"W-what?" I question, not sure if I heard correctly

"A RING! We need to buy a ring. Now get in the car" he says

I get in and he quickly goes around to the other side and drives off

"Why do we need to buy a ring?" I ask, still confused

"God, Alex, we need to get wedding rings, we're married, remember!?" he says, still pretty annoyed

I never really thought about this-

We were 'married' and we didn't even have wedding rings on. But why was this such a concern all of a sudden?

"Okay so you pulled me, like literally pulled and dragged me out of work, yelling like a maniac, to go buy wedding rings!? Couldn't we just do this later, or you could have sent Leila to buy them" I say looking away, at the window, pretending not to care

He doesn't say anything right away

"...people are suspicious, and besides we need them for tonight's dinner with the Sheppards" he says

I don't respond and just look out the window, as he continues driving. There was such a strong awkward and angry wave of energy around us. I just wanted to get out of the car

We finally reach the jewelry store and he parks his car. We both get out of the car, and walk into the really fancy jewelry store. We're greeted by a middle aged man

"Mr. And Mrs. Anderson, welcome. Please follow me this way" he says

Ace places his hand on my lower back which surprises me, but I mean we are technically married and need to act like a couple in public so.... Anyway, we follow the man to a private sitting room with two sofas and a table in the middle.

"Please take a seat, I shall bring you the samples" the man says and leaves the room.

Ace and I both take a seat on the sofa and don't say a word. We both go on our phones as we wait for the gentleman to return.

He comes back with a few other workers, each holding a box full of engagement rings and wedding bands.

"Here are our finest rings, made out of the world's most expensive diamonds and sapphires. For your Ms, here are the engagement rings and you can choose any of these wedding bands, even though we have a couple already prepared for you." he starts to explain the kind of diamonds each ring had and to be honest, I wasn't going to choose any of these anyway. They were far too expensive and not necessary.

"The engagement ring won't be needed. Just a wedding band thank you" I say politely

"Oh but- it's a must! You can't just wear the band!" he starts laughing

I look over at Ace who comes a bit closer

"Choose a ring" Ace says

"It's not necessary. The wedding band is enough" I say this time to him
