My eyes fluttered open again when I felt a small peck on the tip of my nose, the older one carefully letting me down again. I tried to hide the smile on my face by pressing my lips together, arms still wrapped around his neck while his hands lied on my hips.
"We should try that again another time", he chuckled sweetly, drawing small and comforting circles on my lower back with his fingers.
Somehow too delighted to say anything, I swiftly pulled him into a hug, burying my face in his chest and holding onto him as if it was the last time we saw each other.
After pushing him away for months he had never dared to leave my side and now that our relationship went uphill, I honestly could've stayed like this forever. As always though, the universe, or better said NCT's infamous leader had different plans.
A loud ringing noise sounded, breaking the comfortable silence and echoed through the small bathroom. Just as frustrated as me about the sudden interruption, Donghyuck groaned out loud and pulled a small object out of the pile of clothes that was placed on the counter.
"How the fuck did this even survive?" I frowned confused, narrowing my eyes at the older's phone while he glanced down at the name of the caller.
"Fuck, it's Taeyong", he mumbled under his breath, running a hand through his own wet hair as he read the long message he just received.
The brunette quickly looked back up, giving me an apologetic look before he brought his hand up to my cheek and caressed it softly. I leaned into his touch without realizing it, already knowing what he was going to say.
"I have to go now or else I'm going to get killed."
There it was, reality reminding me that all good eventually had to end. Disappointment settled across my face, but I nodded, understanding that it was not his own decision. He had responsibilities as well, even if they meant being stuck at home to keep one safe from SVT.
Before I could react, he pressed a quick kiss on my forehead, the current sadness vanishing in no time just by a simple action like that. 'This is not a goodbye' I reminded myself, already excited for the next time we would meet. Donghyuck smiled at me one last time before he let go of me and went over to his soaking wet clothes placed on the counter.
I only watched him grab his stuff, crossing my arms in front of my chest and leaning my shoulder against the wall while he quickly squeezed the rest of the water in the sink. He was almost out the door when I chuckled in frustration, accidentally saying my thoughts out loud.
"You're really leaving your girlfriend like that, huh?"
As if we were both struck by lightning, we immediately stopped breathing, realizing what sentence had just left my lips. He quickly stopped in his tracks and turned back around to look at me in confusion.
