"It can't be" Alex mumbled as she continued staring at the screen in front of her, "It's beyond impossible" she continued murmuring, trying to make sense of what she was seeing

"What is beyond impossible?" Kara asked from behind her

Alex hadn't seen Kara and Lena walk back in, she had been so caught up in her head that she didn't pay any attention to her surrounding

"What?" Alex asked shocked and pale as she turned to look at her sister

"You just said it's beyond impossible so, I asked what is impossible? are you okay you look pale," Kara asked as she approached her sister

"Oh yeah, I'm... I'm fine-..fine" she almost choked as she babbled on

"So what is impossible?" Kara asked again

"Noth-ing" Alex answered not looking at Kara, "just res-ults that I wasn't expecting" she continued

"Anything we can help with?" Kara and Lena both asked at the same time

"umm..no" the older Danvers replied, "I can handle it"

"Okay, no problem," Kara said then continued, "we were just about to leave, and we wanted to see if the results are ready"

"What?" Alex suddenly asked with a raised voice, "why would you think the results are ready? they are not ready yet. I would have told you if they were-..." before Alex continued rambling on and on, Kara stopped her

"Alex!" she called, "we were just checking," the Kryptonian said

"Oh. Okay" she only replied

"See you later at girls night?" Kara asked

"Yep" Alex only replied with a prolonged 'p' sound

"Okay then, see you later," Kara said as she held Lena's hand and they walked towards the door leaving Alex staring at the screen again.

Before they were about to leave the DEO, Lena asked Kara to wait up. "I'll be back, I forgot something at the lab, I'll go get it then we can leave" she had said

When she got to the lab, she found Alex still calculating some results on the screen. She slowly approached the Danvers, to avoid startling her.

"You know the difference between me and Kara is that she trusts people and I don't" Lena began speaking, "she sees the best in everyone, which is one of the things I love about her. But she can be blind when someone is lying to her, especially when it's her sister, someone close to her." Lena finished, as she was close to Alex with a questioning look

"So what's the big secret Alex? what are you hiding and don't say anything, I know when someone is lying to me" she demanded answers from the Danvers

Alex didn't respond immediately she only looked at Lena straight in the eyes. She seemed to be calculating her odds. Whether to tell Lena what she found or to keep to herself until she was sure.

A minute later, she turned the screen in Lena's direction. Without saying a word she asked Lena to look at the results on the screen.

Without needing any explanation, Lena turned her eyes towards the screen, immediately, her eyes seemed to be perusing from top to bottom. She understood most of what she was seeing except she wasn't sure she was seeing what she was seeing. Maybe her eyes were lying to her.

"Are those-...?" she asked not even looking at Alex

"I know," Alex said, "that's what I thought too, that's why I didn't say anything" she continued

"It's......" Lena tried to say something, anything, but nothing came

"exactly." the Danvers said

"what do we do?" Lena asked then continued,  "we should tell Kara," the Luthor finished.

"What? No" Alex screamed a little too loud than she had intended to, "we can't tell her" she said

"why not?" Lena asked confused

"Because we are not sure. We should confirm it first, before telling her." Alex answered, but when she saw Lena was not convinced, she continued, "we'll tell her after we have confirmed Lena"

"I don't want to lie to her Alex, the last fight almost destroyed us. I was sure it did, but she came back and I promised I would never keep anything from her ever" the Luthor said as she started pacing back and forth

"I know, I'm sorry," Alex honestly replied

Neither said a word for a couple of minutes until the Luthos spoke, "Okay. Only until we confirm the results" she said

"Okay, we confirm and then we tell her" Alex repeated

Lena didn't say anything, she just walked out the door towards her girlfriend.

"Did you find it?" Kara asked her

"What?" Lena asked

"Did you find what you were looking for?" Kara clarified her question

"Yes. yeah, I got it" Lena replied looking straight ahead.

"Okay, let's go"

Later at girls night

"Do you think Alex is okay?" Kara asked Lena as they say closer on the couch

"Why do you ask?" the Luthor replied with a question

"I don't know..." Kara released a breath she didn't realise she had been holding, "she has been very weird since we went to see her this morning and she hasn't said much tonight. I beat her at her favourite game, she always wins, she's better than me if I'm being honest. But she seems distracted, she is unfocused. I don't know, maybe I'm just reading into things." Kara said, "I feel like she's keeping something from me" she finished

"She seems alright to me, a little distracted maybe. Maybe she's just tired, she's been working a lot lately" Lena tried to convince her

"Yeah, you're right. I should not overreact, she wouldn't lie to me anyway, she knows better than to do it again" Kara said so plainly

"Yep, she sure knows better than to keep things from you again," Lena said as she drank water from her glass, she sure hoped it was scotch, with the way she was feeling, she needed it. The guilt had already started eating away at her

"Anyway, how are you feeling?" Kara asked her

"I'm fine, why? do I not look fine?" again with questions instead of a straight answer

"I'm I not allowed to ask my amazing girlfriend how she's feeling?" the Danvers asked as she moved even closer to Lena and wrapped her arms around her

"The amazing part is at least questionable," she said not looking at Kara, but at the empty glass of water, "I'm fine," she said then added, "I'm going to refill my glass"

As she was going to refill her glass, Alex followed her to the kitchen, "she knows" Lena said once she was sure no one could hear them

"What? I thought we weren't going to tell her" she asked seeming irritated

"I didn't. She suspects something is wrong with you, and she thinks you are hiding something from her" Lena clarified

"Crap!" was the only thing, Alex said as she poured herself a glass of scotch.
