THE OBNOXIOUS blaring of the alarm clock startled Venus out of her dream state. She slammed her hand down on her phone repeatedly til the noise stopped. With an aggravated sigh, she lay still, staring at the tapestries strung across her ceiling—still trying to grasp the last few minutes of peace before starting her day.
Groaning, she stood up from her comfortable bed, her blanket wrapped snugly around her petite frame as she left the warmth. Venus slipped on her fluffy strawberry cow slippers and shuffled into the bathroom. Her eyes barely open; she brushed her teeth, took her medication, and headed back to her room.
Venus quickly put on her playlist on shuffle, and the tunes of Fleetwood Mac floated around her room. Smiling, Venus began to hum along to the melody as she sat on the floor in front of her mirror and did her makeup.
It took the girl a solid ten minutes to find an outfit she was comfortable wearing to school, settling on a cropped white t-shirt (that she would cover), jeans, and an oversized black zip-up jacket. Next, she turned to tackle the mess of freshly dyed pink hair atop her head. Brushing it out, she put it into a half-up, half-down style.
