Brave woman

Dear woman,
Sometimes when I catch you at another angle,
Beautiful alone is lazy.
So on my canvas,
First, I will paint the fire in your eyes ,
Then paint the eyes .
I will listen to your boldness,
Before hearing your voice.
I will catch the vibrations of your laughter,
Before the colour of your smile.
Then I will sing of your unsung.

Let me write of your self worth,
You are magic itself.
Let me write of your voice,
Small it is.
Promise me ,
You will find it and say the unsaid.

Promise me ,
You will not let anyone ,
Joke about your body.
Of how flat chested you are,
That you have grapes,
And they want watermelons.
Even grapes ,
Are sweet and ripe ,
Senselessly intoxicating
And they'll fill
Their hands just fine.
Also let them know,
You wish all the cake you ate
Went straight to your boobs instead.

Solitude is not selfish ,
Only the real ones will understand,
And let you be on days like this.
Don't cry over mixed signals,
They either like your vibe or they don't.
Before you say me too,
To the widespread pressure on social media,
Remember social media is a predator,
It's out there to tear you apart.

Your privacy , your intimacy,
If you let anyone step on it,
They'll end up taking
Your confidence.

Oh woman, brave woman,
When you are listening,
Don't let their opinion crack
And find it's way inside you.
Just breathe.
