"Tessa! Tessa!" One out of 3 camera men was calling out my name.

I was hoping not to get noticed tonight by the cameras because I know that they're gonna think Jacob and I are together but I guess you can't get everything you wish for.

I put on the fakest smile I can knowing I really don't want to smile. "Hi!"

"How are you, Tessa?"

"Um, I've been feeling kind of sick lately and it's been a hard past couple of weeks but I'm managing." I sigh.

"Oh, sorry to hear." He keeps walking backwards as he films Jacob and I walking. "You look lovely tonight."

"Thank you." I giggle politely. "I just kind of threw on something cute with some red lipstick and I was good to go."

"Yup, red lipstick is always the way to go." He nods. "Um, do you have anything to say on the break up rumours?"

I glance over at Jacob for a second before looking back at the cameraman. "I don't really want to talk about it but all I'm going to say is Ian and I sadly went our separate ways because of a lie a person who I thought of as a friend said to Ian and I guess he just doesn't want to see the truth. That's all I'm going to say."

"Aw, I'm so sorry about that." He frowns. "But what is your reaction on the Nikki and Ian dating rumours?"

I let out a deep breath really getting irritated. "Look, I will always love Ian, there is no doubt in that, but he deserves the best and if she's what he wants then I'm not one to stop him."

"Well said." He nodded. "Sorry to bother you Tessa but I just have one more thing to ask."

"Go ahead." I nod giving him a small smile.

"Are you and Jacob a thing now?"

I look over at Jacob again who was also looking back at me. I let out a sigh before looking back at the man. "No, we're just friends. He's always been a good friend, I promise you there is nothing else going on."

"What do you have to say about that, Jacob?" The guy turns the camera to Jacob.

He puts his hand on my back and answers. "I really like Tessa and she's an amazing friend and coworker. Whatever she wants I'm here to support her decision."

"Awesome. Awesome." The interviewer nods. "Alright, well, I'm going to let you enjoy the rest of your night. Thank you, guys."

"Bye." Jacob gives him a tight lipped smile.

"No problem." I give him a smirk with a wave. "Have a good night."

And with that thankfully they moved away just in time for us to reach the bar door. I glance back to make sure they were gone before putting a hand on Jacob's arm stopping him in his tracks.

"Jacob." I look him in the eyes. "Thank you for what you said. That was really sweet."

"You know I'm here for you either way, Tess." He smiles.

Tess. I haven't heard that nickname since the night Ian broke up with me.

I shrug off any weird feeling I just had and we headed inside to enjoy the party.
