"Hyung, we could only arrange this on such a short notice."

"I did not see you and Namjoon anywhere helping us with the decorations for this celebration."

"Okay. I will help decorate the cake how about you and Jimin go and produce the song instead, Hyung."

"Fine you win. Just bring the candles from the other room, Yoongi-ah."

Jung Hoseok was going to turn twenty six years old in a little over half an hour. The members of BTS were busy preparing a small birthday surprise for him. They had just come back from an award ceremony and were dead tired but they were trying their best to make things special for their hope.

Min Yoongi was not one to give cute surprises, he usually let the other members of his band handle these kind of things. He was a simple man. He worked hard in the studio and then went back home only to work harder and write more lyrics to produce songs.

Park Jimin and Kim Seok Jin were two other members of BTS. They had ordered the cake and since their part of the work was done they sat beside Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung idly and let them decorate the cake with a picture of J-Hope and candles.

Suga was huffing a little from his short run to the room across the hall when he returned with the candles.

"Why are you breathing heavily like that, Hyung?" Namjoon asked him.

Kim Namjoon was sitting on a couch on the other side of the room and was reading a book. The members tried to give him as much rest as they could during the little free time they had because Namjoon or RM as he was known professionally was the leader of BTS which meant that he was always working a little harder than the others. At least they let him think they did this because they felt bad for him working so hard for them, in reality, they just did not want him to come close to things that could lead to a health hazard either to him or to the people around him. He was known for his knack to break even the most unbreakable of things.

"I am an old man." Yoongi shrugged his shoulders in reply.

"Yes because everyone is old at twenty seven." Jin rolled his eyes at Yoongi.

"Jin Hyung did you put those 'happy birthday' balloons up in the dance studio earlier?" Taehyung asked Jin.

"Yes, I even locked it so that Hobi doesn't go there and ruin the whole surprise." Jin showed them the key smugly and put it back in his pocket.

"You guys do know that all this isn't a surprise anymore right? Like we all expect this from each other on our birthdays every year." Yoongi pointed out the obvious.

"Of course we do but still it feels nice to do this for each other." Jungkook smiled at the members warmly. He was the youngest of the group.

"Did you guys see the recent episode of 'Around the World' last night?" Jimin asked them excitedly.

"Yes, I saw the last three episodes in one go yesterday." Namjoon replied to him.

'Around the World' was a Korean travel show which was in its third season. The members of BTS followed it religiously not just because it was hosted by Im Yoona of Girls' Generation which was one of the most famous and popular girl group of its time but because of Seri. Kwan Seri was the director of photography of 'Around the World' and Min Yoongi's best friend.

"It is getting better with each episode. I still can't believe they actually went to the Amazon forest for a whole week for the first episode. It was wild out there." Jungkook was reminiscing about the first episode of the third season.

"Yoongi never misses any episode of the show." Jin smiled teasingly at Yoongi.

"Of course I don't. I am so proud of Seri. She is doing an awesome job. Being a cinematographer was her dream." Yoongi smiled softly back at him. Talking about his best friend made him happy.

"When will Noona come back to Seoul, Hyung?" Taehyung asked Yoongi.

Yoongi shook his head melancholily.

"I have no idea. This is the longest she has ever been away from home. She went in January of 2019. She even missed my birthday last year. But she told me two days ago that shooting wraps up in March so let's hope for the best."

"I love it when Seri Noona is around. She brings the best gifts from so many different places." Taehyung high fived Jimin on his observation.

Kwan Seri had been friends with Min Yoongi since twenty years. They met in elementary school when they both fought over a piece of extra tangerine which the teacher had distributed to the students in their class. They have been inseparable ever since. They went on to do very different things. Yoongi became an underground rapper by the name Gloss and then later on joined Bighit as an idol trainee while Seri went to University to study photography. However, they never let their friendship suffer due to their schedules. They promised to take out time for each other no matter how busy they were.

"Yeah and she bakes such good cookies." Jin sighed happily. He could still remember the taste of the choco-chip cookies she made for them right before leaving last year.

"And she always gives me such good advice regarding GCF." Jungkook added. Jungkook had his own small production by the name of Golden Closet Films or GCF. Seri and Jungkook edited a lot of videos and pictures together.

There were only five minutes left for the clock to hit midnight. The members checked themselves in the mirror and put some lip balm on. Such birthday surprises were usually recorded as Bangtan Bombs and uploaded on YouTube for ARMY to enjoy.

They went to the dance studio and set everything up.

"Did any of you remember to call Hobi? Only two minutes are left." Yoongi asked them but they all shook their heads. He was not surprised at all, in all honesty he expected such idiocy from them.

He called Hobi and asked him to meet the others in the dance studio giving an excuse that they were having some trouble with the recent choreography.

The lights were switched off.

As soon as Hoseok entered the lights turned on and they shouted 'surprise' loudly.

Hoseok gave them a big smile and shifted a little to reveal his own surprise.

"Well, I hope I am a pleasant surprise."

Kwan Seri smiled brightly at them.
