the two filled each other in on what had happened in their hectic lives for the past few weeks. both acknowledging their horrid communication skills, dev made george promise that he would respond to her messages and that they would make more of an effort to work around their schedule because their friendship was too important for both of them to abandon. their evening consisted of eating ice cream, gossiping about the clients at dev's office, and george's new puppy. dev also managed to get another polaroid of george, who had chocolate ice cream smeared all over his mouth.
as he waved goodbye and headed down the street, she pulled out her phone to find a number she had never messaged before. george had given it to her in case of emergencies, but this seemed like a pretty big emergency to dev.
