Hi everybody im Mackenzie Wright im 12 years old and well pregnant even though the bed Michelle letting me sleeping in is really comfortable im scared to fall asleep so after asking if I could get some food and water I walked in the kitchen got a cup filled it with tap water to afraid to take the bottled water I just don't want to over step my boundaries I got three crackers and sat at her island in the dark afraid to touch anything I run my fingers through my soft freshly straightened hair I love it so much I never had my hair straight before till now it was way longer but I had a lot of dead ends ms.erica reassured me it will grow way faster now and two weeks I should visit her again but I won't I don't have money like that and I just can accept free stuff

"Baby why you sitting in the dark" Michelle ask as she turns on the light and stands behind me

"Oh I didn't want to wake you August or Arian im so sorry mam if I did" I start to bite the inside of my cheek wanting it to bleed

"No me and aug was already Up and well you know how it is being pregnant your always hungry" I give her a fake smile as I nod

"I really like your hair like this it brings out your face" she says while smoothing out my hair

"Why are you doing this Michelle why are you being so nice?" My eyes start to water as i hurriedly try and wipe away my tears she pulls me in a hug and kisses my forehead

"I know this may seem hard to believe but Mackenzie I care about you and I love you already... when I was about 15 my parents died I was alone I lived in parks I was alone and I turned to stripping I just know how's it feel not to have anyone I know it's not the same thing you going through but I want to be there for you..." she says on the verge on tears

"If I open up to you and let you help me how do I know you won't turn on me or hurt me like everyone else" I ask

"You just have to trust me Kenzie... I really do love you and if you will let us me and aug talked it over and we wanted to adopt you only if you want" she ask

I excitedly jump up and run to her arms and repeatedly thank god for bringing ms.michelle in my life

"You'd really do that?!" I ask crying into her chest

"Yes baby really we can even get the process started tomorrow while your at school" she wipes away my tears and holds me tighter

"Now you go get some sleep and prepare for school" I kiss her cheek and run up the stairs I went to sleep happy that night

The next morning Michelle wasn't feeling good so mr.august is taking me and Arian to school of course I don't feel comfortable about men but If he's gonna be in my life I should get to know him

"Bye Yall have good days at school" she kisses each of our foreheads and send us on our way since my schools further we took Arian to school first

"You wanna get in tha front lil mama" I really ain't want to but MiMi says he's a good nice man... I grab my backpack and climb in make sure to sit as far away as possible

"Sooo you like school?" He asked

I simply nod my head

"Look Mackenzie Michelle told me what yo step pops did and I just want you to know not all men are like dat hell dat nigga ain't even what you would consider a man but I am ima real man and I want you to know I'll be there for you just like im there for Arian you may not know us dat well but we already love you we'd never hurt ya and anything you need don't hesitate to ask aight"

"Thank you mr.august" I say only about a whisper

"Lil mama you ain't gotta call me mr. you got a nigga feeling old as shit" he laughs at the end making me smile

"Why you talk like that" I ask finally opening up

"What you mean nigga im talkin clear English too yo ass" he says causing me to laugh harder

"No where you from is what I meant my best friend talks just like you and he's from New Orleans"

"Oh Fr that's whea im from yo best friend must be a real nigga that's whea real niggas originate from"

"He be tryna be he ain't all that just a skinny light skin boy like you" I try not crack up from his facial expression

"Forget you then to Kenzie Yall girls always hating on a skinny nigga... aight now you have a good day at school and at recess take it easy"

"Ok August but just to let you know I'm in middle school it's not really recess anymore we just sit around and talk" I break out laughing and so does he he leans over hugs me and kiss my forehead

"I love you Mackenzie"

"I love you too August" i climb out the car and run through the front doors not wanting to be late to first period after sitting down I take our my homework that's actually done for the first time in months Michelle said even though I'm pregnant I have to finish school and make something of myself anyway I get a note instantly passed to me I quickly unfold not not tryna get caught by wicked mrs.bells

I see written out in my best friends seat I quickly smile up to him and right a quick not back with my new phone number thanks to Michelle and August i soon pass it back after the teacher turns to write on the board less then seconds later I get a text from Joshua telling me to take the girls pass while he takes the boys and meet him on the stair case I quickly excused myself and made my way there soon as I turned the corner he embraced me

"Omg I thought somethin happened to ya when you didn't come yesterday whea were you? And are you know wit chile'?" He asked causing me to laugh cause he sounds just like a younger August

"What tha hell funny I was scared?" He ask getting all serious

"Ok one I am with child don't tell nobody im not even sure if I want to keep it.... but going to the clinic was a blessing I met a real nice lady and she saw me and immediately tried to help me out she took me shopping bought me this phone she knows my situation and she let me in with open arms she even tryna adopt me her and her boyfriend August and guess what he's from New Orleans too Yall kinda look alike"

"Dats cool and all but you trust dem like already im happy fo you I just don't want you to get hurt I already got one nigga I needa handle I need anotha" he wraps his arm around my shoulder and kisses my forehead

"I'm sure josh you can even meet them you will see that they really want to help me and if I decide to keep the baby Michelle says she will help and aug promised me he's not that kinda man I really believe in my heart this is right"

"Ok mama whateva you want but trust ima grill they ass buleehhh dat" I start to crack up and he pulls me in a tighter hug please God let this adoption work
