Yugyeom:

Can you come out for a moment?

I look up from my laptop screen when my phone dings, reading the message Yugyeom just sent me.

Me:

Right now?

Yugyeom:

Yes. I'm waiting in front of your apartment building.

I sigh and glance at the time. It's not too late and I can't help but wonder what he is doing here. I turn off the lamp at the my desk and walk out of my room.

Me:

I'll be there.

"Mom, I'm going out for a few minutes. I'll be back," I yell out quickly, getting out of the apartment before she can even have time to respond back to me.

I get into the elevator, pressing the button for the ground floor, patiently waiting for the elevator reach the ground floor. Once I get out, I give a nod to the security guard sitting in the lobby and make my way out of the building.

There are about three buildings in my apartment complex, and the building I live in is the farthest away from the main gate. Even though it is the furthest away, it is also only about a five minute walk, and sure enough, I see Yugyeom standing just inside the main gate.

He spotted me before I could even call out his name, and kicked himself off the wall, walking towards me.

"What are you doing here? It's late," I say when he's in front of me.

"I had to see you," Yugyeom told me.

"We saw each other earlier today," I point out, looking at him.

"It was brief. And it wasn't exactly ideal," He says and I stay silent.

"Did. . .did you not tell your manager when your phone got lost?" I ask him, a question that has been bugging me ever since I got back home.

"No."

"Why not?"

"I didn't want to create another issue."

"It's wouldn't have been an issue for you though," I say.

Yugyeom bears down at me with his stare and asks in a deep voice, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Come on. You know it too. They would've have just called me to your company and force me sign another contract," I point out.

Yugyeom frowns and says, "and? They would've only done it to protect me. They don't mean any harm."

"And neither do I but they still tried to make me sign a contract," I point out.

"That's why I didn't tell the about this whole fiasco. So we both don't have to go through the entire process again," Yugyeom said and I could tell he was getting frustrated.

"You wouldn't have to go through anything at all. It would all be me," I say.

Yugyeom sighs, looking away and running his fingers through his hair before saying, "Are you mad at me?"

I also sigh and close my eyes, before shaking my head and saying, ". . .No, I just-I'm sorry. I'm just tired and frustrated. This is so stupid, let's just forget about it. Why did you want to see me?"

"It was about earlier. I just wanted to let you know that my manager isn't going to say anything to the company so you're going to be fine," Yugyeom informed.

"You could have just texted me. You didn't have to come all the way," I say with a soft voice, this time no hint of hostility in my voice.

"But I wanted to," Yugyeom said firmly.

I look away from him and onto the ground. Tension surrounds us in the air and I can that we both are frustrated and exhausted from our day. It was a tiring day for me, traveling in the heat and I didn't doubt for a second that Yugyeom had a long day as well.

"It's a bit late," I speak up, "You should get going on. I'm sure you're tired too."

I take a step back, getting ready to turn around when he grabs my wrist and makes me face him again.

"What's wrong," Yugyeom asks me gently.

"Nothing. I'm just tired," I tell him.

"I know that's not true. Tell me what's wrong," Yugyeom says to me.

I breathe deeply and look at me him, making eye contact. I can see the questions swimming in his eyes and I ask, "What are we?"

"What?" Yugyeom's confused question comes.

"What are we?" I repeated, not breaking our eye contact.

Yugyeom lets go of my wrist and narrows his eyes at me.

"Where is that coming from," He asks.

"From me," I say, "I want to know what are we."

Yugyeom stays silent, looking at me and unable to find his words.

"Because I don't want to be just a rebound. I know I might be taking this way too seriously, but I don't want to fall too deep into another relationship just to get hurt again. I just want to know what I'm getting myself into," I say, thinking back to my last relationship.

"Where is this coming from?" Yugyeom asks.

"This is coming from me Yugyeom. I want to know what we are. Are we just casual or are we serious? You're a celebrity Yugyeom. You have hundreds of girls lining up to be with you. . .what makes me so different?" I say.

"I don't mind being a fling, but I need to be on the same page if I am. Because you take me out on a date on Saturday, text me all day on Sunday and Monday as if we're a couple, then ghost me for two days before I accidentally bumped into you today," I say, "You can't blame me for being confused."

Yugyeom stayed silent and avoided my eyes, choosing to look at the ground beneath him instead.

I look at him, my arms crossed against my chest and I wait for his answer, one that I'm determined to hear. I feel like a lifetime has passed as the cool breeze blows and the only sound we both can hear is the leaves rustling in the trees nearby.

"I-I don't know?" Yugyeom finally says.

"What do you don't know?" I ask.

"I-I don't know what I want," Yugyeom admits, finally looking up at me.

I slowly close my eyes and take another small step, letting my arms drop to my sides. I'm not exactly surprised, but I also can't help but wish his answer was different. Something more hopeful.

I nod slowly and say, "Then I suppose you better figure out."

I walk away from him, knowing that there isn't much left to say anymore right now. Yugyeom knows where to find me when he wants to reach out to me. I'm not going to let myself fall after my last relationship anymore.

Hello. Short update but here you go. I've kind of been lazy these days and not really writing. I'm motivated but it's just, I want to relax and just watch some dramas too and usually I can't do both after a day at school. But I'm on spring break now so maybe I'll update a bit more often.

Thank you and have a great day!!
