The Midnight Visitor

The stars and the moon,

Darkness consumed in.

Died the sound of mother croon,

It was midnight, like usual, when he came in.

A knock on my window,

A smile on my lips.

Here's to the million reasons,

Cheers! To the wine and alcohol dips.

Cuddling together on my bed,

Our daily ritual it became.

One hand held me tight,

Other embraced my body, making me typical sane.

For hours we stayed like this,

It was when, the sun came up.

A bang on my door,

'Sweetie' mom said, 'Your bed tea cup!'

She came in handing me the tea,

I looked around, he was nowhere to be seen.

'Mum, he again vanished' I complained,

With a frown she answered,

'Honey, he died three years ago,

And since then like this you have been!'
