I walk having my angel on my side. His presence ceases the feeling of fear and uneasiness enough but with every step, I take closer to my destination; my heart beats faster and more powerful. I thought I was determined about what I wanted when I had asked; I was wrong though. The doubts are clouding my mind and my body feels vulnerable like my soul. Memories whirl around my head as I keep biting my lip in a failed action to relax.

"Are you okay?" His soft voice puts a part of me to rest. I don't know what I would do if he wasn't here with me.

"Yeah," I say. "Just a bit nervous," I admit. A scowl forms and troubles his brow.

"Nervous? About what?"

I open my mouth to speak while my eyes scan the room and land on one person. My breath gets hitched on my throat and I blanch. From the corner of my eye, I glimpse Corbyn turning in order to follow the direction of my eyes. His body loads with alarm and drags me behind him in a millisecond.

Edward's face appears in the corner of my sight. He has leaned in the wall on his back to manage to stand. He looks fatigued but my eyes stare at his bruises. His face is covered in dark mauve bruises, his arms are full of deep cuts marking his skin as he has mine. His eyes find us and terror overtakes my features. My fists grasp Corbyn's shirt as cold sweat seems to form on my neck and back.

The corner of his mouth raises as he stares at us. He plasters on a fake smile and I scrunch up my face in disgust. My weak body wiggles in terror. I gulp painfully.

"What a welcome surprise," He announces smiley. Corbyn's face twists in rage clenching his teeth. I know he's trying his best not to attack him again but his control is wearing thin.

"Shut the fuck up," Corbyn hisses. Edward grimaces before a smirk plays on his lips. Fear washes me over when his eyes meet mine. He doesn't look away studying me silently. Corbyn's grip tightens on me.

"Came to finish what we started?" He asks and before I could process anything; Corbyn leaves my side. He surges in Edward throwing him in the wall and hitting his head in it. His hand clasps his neck forcing him in place. My pulse gets higher and I start trembling. I don't know what Corbyn will do and I know that I won't be able to stop him if he loses his self-control.

"Say a fucking word again," Corbyn hisses. "See what happens," Edward winces as Corbyn hits him in the wall again. His face goes blank before his hands go up and grasp Corbyn's. He tries to free himself yet Corbyn doesn't let him. The muscles of my angel's body are clenched, filled with tension. They distinguish as his expression hardens.

He says something to Edwards's face that I can't hear from here. Corbyn's grasp loosens up and Edward falls to the ground sliding in the wall. He holds his neck coughing, trying to find his breath. Corbyn towers over him with nothing but disgust and ferocity. He looks down at Edward with a frown and burning eyes that can cut whoever they are fixated on.

I cross my arms defensibly after taking a deep breath to gather up all my strength. I walk over to them peering at Edward. I feel Corbyn's eyes piercing me; telling me to go away. He doesn't like the idea and proximity but I want to get some answers.

"w-why me?" I whisper. I put all my efforts yet my fear doesn't allow me to act and speak as I do. He leans up looking at me and a smirk forms.

"You should be happy you were the lucky one, baby," He answers and Corbyn grasps his shirt and pulls him up. Fear crosses his face as he gulps. A punch on his chaw makes him flinch and cry out in pain.

"Don't you fucking call that," Corbyn snaps irritably and I notice a vein popping out of his neck. He starts to speak but Corbyn kicks him on his sensitive area making him fall on the floor again. I crinkle my nose at the image as Edward wipes off the blood that leaves his mouth.

He glares at Corbyn when I speak. "Why?"

Edward turns to me and his face contorts as if he can't bear to see me. I guess that works both ways.

"You weren't speaking. You were the perfect candidate. Simple," He says.

"Why try again then?"

"It's a shame that you didn't get the chance to experience this," He waves on his body and I wince. "Besides," He adds. "None stands on my way. I always get that I want,"

"You're more of a fucking asshole than I thought." Corbyn cries. "I'm happy you got what I wanted," A smirk graces my angel's lips but I know he's faking. His eyes are charged with ire that he can't hide.

"I would have tried earlier but you were always with that asshole!" Edward shouts standing up and this time; his fist comes into the air aiming at Corbyn's face. My angel leans and takes Edward's fist in his and shoves him back. Edward stumbles as fear clouds his features. I flinch back when Corbyn sends his punch on Edward's kidneys and right after in his diaphragm.

Edward's hands move around attempting to grab something to hold on to. Corbyn throws him in the corner hitting him again. He loses his balance while his weak and sorrowful body spams. His eyes widen in alarm; he has trouble breathing. I browse Corbyn's hand on the air and I squint my eyes shut not baring to see any more violence. I hear a few noises as the skin touches and hits the other and my mouth dries. I peep and before I can think, I stride towards them.

"Corbyn," I call out his name but it doesn't stop him. My fists grip his shirt seeing him hit Edward again and again. "Corbyn!"

He ceases releasing Edward. His eyes find mine; he's panting trying to control his jerky breathing, his hands are clenched as recognition and realization dawns on his face. He runs his hand through his messy hair exhaling.

"Mr. Carter?" The Principal's voice startles me and I whip round to find him standing with a police officer on his side. I frown gazing between them before I turn to Corbyn. He seems to be as confused as I am with his fuzzy eyes stuck to the Principal. I eye Edward stand but before I can yell; his hand circles my angel's neck. Corbyn leans back while Edward tightens his grip on him.

"Corbyn!" I shout. Corbyn tries to get free but Edwards pouts clenching. Without thinking, I move forwards but two strong arms stop me. I see my angel's face redden as he coughs attempting to gain some oxygen.

"Please, help him!" I exclaim feeling tears sting the corner of my eyes. The Principal drags me backward as the officer runs to them. Corbyn though doesn't stop trying. He leans down, bending, and using all this strength, he grasps Edward's arms, and passing him over his head, he throws him to the ground. The impact fills the atmosphere with a wave of dust and loud noise.

Edward lays on the floor grimacing as his hurt expression and frown depict his throbbing pain. The Principal lets go of me but my eyes are glued to the laying figure. I was laying like this yesterday, I was unconscious. That could have happened to my angel. What if he had lost? What if he didn't win and ended up senseless? Or worse. My eyes pool.

I run to my angel's embrace and sob bounding my arms around him. His breathing is rapid as well as his pulse. Tears strain his shirt but he doesn't seem to mind. He stares at Edwards and I peer through his arms. I flinch back turning away.

"He's all yours," The Principal announces. Edwards stands on his feet and the officer restrains him with handcuffs despite his constant actions against it. His eyes are glued to mine the whole process and I can't help but feel that he considers me the cause of all of this.
