Outside The Window

32 10 10

The glass on my window shook,

Rust formed on the frame,

As I opened to the outside world

The only passage in the building, through which air rarely came.

Thought the pretty world would change

Though it remained the same,

Only with now less trees

While more establishment took the lane.

Birds were few, airplanes seem many

No hummings, no nests.

As far as I could see,

Only the car horns and money rests.

Now, maybe, humanity doesn't exist

But it was a decade ago, when

I was out of these gates,

They may consider me an animal,

Are they anything less?

Happy-frowning I closed the window,

Of the building 'Mental Asylum' which read!
