━ ° ❪ disclaimer: for any of you lovely people that don't read chaeri's book, then i do need to explain that george and chaeri were involved in a scandal.

it was leaked to the public that george and chaeri slept together once and with this being leaked to the public, chaeri got a lot of backlash and had to go on a hiatus.

that whole scandal will be mentioned in this chapter just for context, i felt the need to explain. you may now proceed

"That's the fifth mistake you've made. We've done this routine a thousand times! Why are you so sloppy today!?"

George whipped around to face Jimin, who immediately flinched. Hoseok was usually the strict one when it comes to the choreography whilst George tends to be more patient and calm. It's very rare for him to get aggravated so easily, which is why his sudden short temper caught everyone off guard, including Hoseok.

"We've been at this for hours, he just needs a break," Taehyung chimed in. He stepped slightly in front of Jimin almost like he was trying to shield him from George's view.

"A break sounds good. We're all a bit tense, a short break should help us get ourselves together. I say let's settle for fifteen minutes and then try again," Hoseok announced, Namjoon nodding in agreement.

The group split off into different directions. George settled down on the floor, downing a bottle of water before throwing his head back against the panel behind him. He shut his eyes tightly and tried to steady his aching mind. A pang of guilt tugged at his heartstrings. He had been hard on his members today when in reality, they weren't to blame for any of his problems. If anything they had tried their best to help him only to be pushed away and yelled at.

He scolded himself silently for being so rude. It wasn't their fault that the rumours with Chaeri got out. They had nothing to do with the scandal and George needed to remember that. They aren't there to be a punching bag for him to take his frustration out on. His eyes fluttered open when he felt someone sit beside him. Rolling his head to the side, his tired eyes fell onto Yoongi's frame.

"You're being a dick," Yoongi told him bluntly keeping his gaze ahead as he took a sip of his own water.

"I know," George groaned in response, throwing his head back again with slumped shoulders.

"Your problems aren't caused by Jimin or any of us. It's called a practice for a reason, we're here to make mistakes and learn from them and that's what Jimin's doing. He's seeing where he's messing up and he's working on it. It's frustrating enough to keep making the same mistake but when you have someone that you look up to being an asshat with you for making those mistakes it adds more pressure."

If George didn't feel bad before, he certainly did now. Rubbing his hands over his face, George let out a heavy sigh. "I don't mean to be on a short fuse, I'm just- I'm so stressed and I don't know what to do about it because there is nothing that I can do. I have to sit and watch a girl that I really care about get ridiculed and embarrassed online because of me yet I'm not even receiving nearly half as much hate as she is. I'm lost and ashamed."

"It's not 'because of you' George. It's in your right to sleep with someone. If it's anyone's fault, it's the psycho that leaked all this information in the first place," Yoongi assured him. "If there's one thing that you can do, it's being a friend to Chaeri. She might need you a lot more than you think she does. She needs all the support she can get right now and you avoiding her like the plague probably doesn't make her feel any better."

Yoongi ruffled George's hair and stood up to his feet, water bottle clutched in his hand. "Before you talk to anyone, I suggest you apologize for being an ass."

With that, he walked away and headed to refill his water bottle leaving George alone with his thoughts. Shooting a glance across the room, he met the eyes of Taehyung who glanced over at a very dejected looking Jimin. Taehyung then raised his eyebrows, face contorting into a look of 'get your ass over there now.'

George pushed himself up and sauntered timidly towards the younger member, who had his head down and was fiddling with the edge of his shirt. Ignoring the burning ache of guilt in his chest, George took the empty space beside him and smiled uncomfortably.

"Hello." George flinched at how painfully awkward he sounded. He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. "I am here to show remorse for being a dickhead."

Jimin raised his head, slight amusement displayed on his face. "You are here to show remorse- why can't you just apologize like a normal person?"

George looked up at Jimin with a small smile. "I'm sorry."

"You made me feel stupid." Jimin's amusement vanished and a look of hurt was plastered over his face.

"I mean you are stupid," George replied ruefully to which Jimin laughed sadly knowing that was nothing more than a bad joke with no true meaning behind it. "I didn't mean to get mad at you. You were doing well, I was just being a dick and used you as a way to get out my pent up frustration. I didn't mean anything by it and I will wholeheartedly let you twat the shit out of me right now if it makes you feel better."

Jimin's body shook with small laughs. Finally, he glanced up to meet George's eyes with a genuine smile plastered across his face. "I forgive you."

"You do? Oh, thank God because I thought that I would have to fight Taehyung and his face is too pretty to punch."

George wrapped Jimin in a tight hug, patting his back before pulling away with a wide smile. Once the two had hugged out their differences, George left the practice room to get a refill of his water.

"What are you doing?" Jungkook quizzed, watching as Jimin grabbed George's bag and slid out his car keys before stuffing them into his pocket. "Why did you take his key-"

"He made me sad, so I'm going to make him stay here a few extra hours until he realizes that he has to walk home."

Jungkook only laughed when George entered the room looking much more at ease. "What are you laughing at, Jeon?"

"Nothing. Just happy to see you in good spirits," The Maknae told him with a smile which George returned, blissfully unaware of the meaning behind what he thought was a genuine grin.

That night, George spent two and a half hours searching for his car keys only to receive a text from Jimin with a photo attachment. The keys were laying on George's bed and underneath the photo was a caption.

Now we're even.
