Finally! I was trying to make a good transition into a Keefe chapter and now I have!

After breakfast, everyone walked back to the men's room, and no one was talking. The boy with dark brown hair and teal eyes kept his eyes trained on the floor, tears silently slipping down his face. I'm pretty sure he was the boy Sophie screamed at. We all sat down in the men's room, when a messenger walked up to me. If I'd been eliminated already, I would have to go back to my parents. No. I wouldn't be eliminated. Sophie said she wasn't eliminating anyone yet. I held my breath as the messenger practically announced to the whole entire castle,

"From Her Highness Princess Sophie Ruewen, to Keefe Sencen."

Shock flashed across my face as I realized Sophie had sent a letter to ME. I opened it, not looking at the angry glares from the other selected.

Keefe,

How would you feel about being the first date of the selection? Meet me at the stables at midnight. I have a plan - don't worry.

Sophie

I smirked. Midnight. Tomorrow. The boy with the teal eyes glared at me and snatched letter out of my hand and read over it, his expression getting increasingly redder. He passed it around the room, then a boy who's name was Sam Marshall I think tore it up. Another selected, Wylie Endal, told me, "Don't mind them. They're just jealous." The boy with black and silver hair beside him, Tam Song, nodded. It didn't bother me, because I'd already memorized it. I thank them and walked back to my room with a skip in my step. Metaphorically obviously.

I watched the clock tick to midnight and ran out to the garden. I waited for like, a minute, and Sophie walked up. Even without her fancy makeup and dresses on, I thought she looked gorgeous. She was wearing an ice blue crop top, and a floral navy blue skirt.

Sophie's outfit:

She gestured me towards what I thought was the stables

She gestured me towards what I thought was the stables. I caught up to her, and a question that'd been bugging me for hours.

"Hey Sophie? Can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah." She said, breathless.

"What's your real last name?"

She bit her lip and looked away. "Sorry - I shouldn't have asked, just curious."

She stopped and looked at me, smiling weakly. "Stop. Don't apologize, it's just hard."

I make the riskiest move ever and gently grabbed her hand. She stared at it, surprise etched on her face. After what seemed like forever, she squeezed it. She didn't let go as she walked to the stables, and I followed her over to a sparkling white horse, who's name tag said,

Silveny

Sophie put her head to Silveny's, and whispered,

"It's Foster,"

I looked at her. "What?"

"You asked me what my last name was."

Oh. Her last name was Foster. She climbed up onto Silveny, and nudged the horse towards me. Silveny nickered and pushed her nose against me. I grinned at the fact that Sophie's horse liked me. Dragging me back to reality, Sophie cleared her throat and pointed to a grey horse with a name tag that read,

 Greyfall

I hopped on Greyfall and I followed Sophie up a hill, and there sat a black blanket and a picnic basket.

"Star-gazing." She murmured. "I love it, and I wanted to share it with you."

When she turned away, I grinned wider than should've been possible. Sophie wanted to share her secret with ME. I sat down next to her, and what might've been hours, we talked. About anything and everything. As the sky slightly lightened, half asleep Sophie snuggled up against my chest and we drifted off to sleep.

SOKEEFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. They're so cute. I was re-reading the first book and I was like, KEEFE YOU BETTER DITCH ASAP, BECUSE YOUR SOULMATE NEEDS TO MEET YOU. Lol
