DEMENTORS

Morgana walked into the train, Thomas on her shoulder. They planned for him to stay an animagus for this year as well, since Tom had nothing better to do.

She walked through the compartments and opened the one where her girlfriend and friends were sat it. "Bonjour, ma belle." Amara said after getting a kiss.

"Hello, darling." Morgana replied, sitting next to her and pulling her close.

"Guess what?" Regulus started, "Sirius Black escaped azkaban."

"Close the curtains." Thomas suddenly hissed. Morgana nodded and did as he asked. Thomas changed back from his animagus form, making the two boys pale, but he paid them no mind as he talked to his cousin in parseltongue, not wanting the others to understand.

"Sirius Black was believed to be the secret keeper of the Potters, but it wasn't him. He was framed. It was Peter Pettigrew." He explained.

Morgana frowned, "Isn't this the first escape from azkaban?"

Tom looked thoughtful before answering, "Yes, it is.."

"Great. Now change back to your animagus form."

"I don't want to! It's so bloody uncomfortable!"

"You'll get caught, Marvolo. We've been over this."

Tom groaned as he changed back to his animagus form and slithered back onto Morgana's neck. "So, um..We've had the dark lord around us all this time?" Leo asked, his voice unusually high.

"Yes." Morgana replied, unbothered by their fear.

As Leo and Morgana came back from their prefect meeting, (They were chosen to be prefects for Slytherin), they sat back down at their compartment.

The quartet shared a look of confusion as the train suddenly turned extremely cold. Regulus stood up and looked out of the window, "There's something moving out there."

"I think people are coming aboard." Leo continued, also looking at the window.

Amara gasped, "Those aren't people..Those are dementors." She pointed to their compartment door, where a dementor was opening it.

Morgana immediately shielded her girlfriend, while Tom changed back from being a snake and shielded his cousin, "Expecto Patronum." He casted, thinking about when he first found out he had a cousin, not even knowing if it would work since he never had casted a patronus.

They all breathed in relief as it worked and a snake patronus shot out of Tom's wand, "Are we really surprised, though?" mocked Morgana as they all sat back down.

"I think what I'm surprised about is that it actually worked." mumbled Tom, turning into his animagus form before they could ask him any questions.

The students all sat down in the great hall as Dumbledore started his yearly speech, "Welcome! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts.
Now, I'd like to say a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin, who's kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against
the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck, professor."

"Snape looks pissed." Amara pointed out, feeling bad for their head of house.

Dumbledore continued, "Our Care of Magical Creatures teacher has decided to retire in order to spend more time with his remaining limbs. Fortunately, I'm delighted to announce that his place will be taken by none other than our own Rubeus Hagrid."

"That oaf?!" Leo exclaimed angrily, his cousin having the same expression.

"Finally, on a more disquieting note at the request of the Ministry of Magic: Hogwarts will, until further notice, play host to the dementors of Azkaban until such a time as Sirius Black is captured. The dementors will be stationed at every entrance to the grounds. Now whilst I've been assured that their presence will not disrupt our day-to-day activities..a word of caution: Dementors are vicious creatures. They'll not distinguish between the one they hunt
and the one who gets in their way. Therefore, I must warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you.

It is not in the nature of a dementor to be forgiving.But you know, happiness can be found...even in the darkest of times...if one only remembers to turn on the light." Dumbledore finally finished.

Morgana sneered, "Turn on the light, Leo. Please do." she said sarcastically.

"Lumos." Leo casted and grinned, "There we go."

"Bloody idiot." murmured Regulus.
