Avengers Stony Our little surprise

Ch. 32 "I'm sorry"

                                                 Jayden POV 

My eyelids slowly flutter open, I blink a few times clearing the blurry vision I had, I looked around to find Bruce passed out at his computer, 

I unhooked all the wires and stumbled out of the lab, 

That's when I heard talking, 

"It doesn't make any sense, I get she was in HYDRA but why would they go after her," I heard Tony's voice 

"That's not the question we should be asking," Nat's voice said 

"Yeah, why did they put something like this on her, beat her senseless it doesn't make any sense," Steve said 

"Yeah, normally it's experiments not torture, well some beatings involved from the intel I've gathered it doesn't go past that," I heard Fury say 

I quietly walked into the room, 

"That's because I wasn't their target," I said weakly 

"Jayden.." Tony said him and Steve walking to me briskly 

"Jayden you need to tell us what's going on," Steve said firmly 

I looked down, 

"I did something very bad..." I said sadly 

it was quiet, 

I looked up everyone looked slightly worried, 

"What do you mean munchkin?" Steve said 

"They weren't after me, they were after something I took," I said sadly 

I looked at Bucky, 

"Do you remember the night we escaped?" I asked 

"Yes, they were coming after us in extreme numbers," Bucky said 

I nodded 

"That's because I took something, something they couldn't use on anyone again," I said quietly 

"And so that night after I escaped, I hid it, somewhere no one would ever think to look," I said sadly 

"Where?" Nat said 

"I'm too weak to teleport there but.." I said looking at Loki

"I can show you so you can see," I said 

"Alright little Fox," Loki said kneeling in front of me, 

He put both hands on each side of my head, 

 I closed my eyes remembering that night,

                                        Flashback

 remembering the wounds that littered my body, the heavily pouring down rain, 

How I ran bare foot through the empty streets, the puddles under my feet splashing as I ran, 

The thunder cracking and the lightning lighting up the sky, 

I found myself at my old home that there was nothing left, just ash, 

I dug a deep hole under the bricks that still remained from the home, I dropped the vile that had a glowing liquid in it, and buried the vile, the tears ran down my face as quickly as the rain washed them away

That night was the night I promised to protect the vile from HYDRA so they would never use it on anyone ever again

                                            End Flashback 

Loki backed up being a little taken back from the memory, 

"What?" Steve said worried 

"I will take you to the location," Loki said still looking at me, 

"I'll go" Tony said 

"Us too," Nat said with Clint 

I nodded sadly 

I looked at the ground remembering what happened after that, 

                                     Flashback 

After burying the vile I slowly stood up only to fall to the ground again, I stood up again seeing my reflection in the water puddle, 

All the cuts and bruises on my face, 

I made a promise to myself that night, I wouldn't get close to anybody, because of what happened with my family, having to leave Bucky, after what they did to me, 

I stumbled through the streets of Brooklyn finding a abandoned apartment building knowing full well things were about to get a whole lot harder, 

                                     End Flashback 

Steve was on his knees in front of me, 

"What's wrong? does something hurt?' He asked in a panic 

I was confused at first but then I realized why he was panicking as I felt tears falling down my cheeks, 

I shook my head no, 

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." I said 

I felt him bring me into a hug that my face was buried into his lower chest, 

"I'm sorry.." I said 

"Shhh," Steve said petting my hair, 

                               Steve POV 

I watched as Jayden was looking at the floor with pure guilt, 

"What do you think she took?" I asked Bucky, 

"I don't know but whatever it was the guilt has been weighing on her for a while," He said 

I was now in front of her on my keens because I seen that she was crying, I've never seen her cry, not like this, 

"What's wrong? does something hurt?' I asked in a panic 

she shook her head no,

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." she said

I brought her into a hug, her  face was buried into my lower chest,

"I'm sorry.." she said through hiccups 

"Shhh," I said petting her hair, 

I don't know what she took but one thing I do know is I don't like seeing her cry, I thought as I looked at Bucky trying to calm her down,
