The Avengers, Steve's Little Secret

Ch. 26 "Pain"

                                          Brooke POV 

I woke up in the middle of the night crying bloody murder, tears streaming down my face, 

That quickly Daddy and Bucky rushed in, Daddy picking me up out of the crib I sleep in, 

"Shh, Brooke Daddy's here what's wrong," Daddy said 

You see he thinks I had a nightmare no, no my back teeth hurt really really bad, 

"It hurts," I cried 

Daddy stopped rocking me looking at me worried, 

"What hurts squirt?" Bucky asked 

I opened my mouth pointing 

Daddy looked inside my mouth, 

"Crap," Daddy said 

"What?" Bucky said 

"Her back molars are coming in," Daddy said 

"Wait I thought kids stop teething after a year in a half," Bucky said 

Daddy gave him a look, 

"Or so I read," Bucky said 

"She's just a late bloomer that's all," Daddy said 

"Here," Daddy said handing me to Bucky, 

"I'll be right back," Daddy said 

Bucky adjusted me above his hip holding me, I buried my face in the crook of his neck as I cried, 

"Shh, it's alright squirt," He said rocking me as I cried, 

"FRIDAY play Eternal Flame," Bucky said 

"Of course sir," FRIDAY said 

The music started playing, 

Bucky started to slowly start to dance with me in his arms which slowed my cries down, even though I was in pain, 

"Shh," Bucky said as he rubbed my back as he danced

                                                    Steve POV 

I rushed to the Kitchen rampaging through the freezer, looking for a teether, I did buy some of them since I knew she didn't get her back molars yet, 

And now they are coming through 

I found one the little blue whale, 

"Finally," I said 

"What's going on?" Tony said looking at me confused, 

"Nothing Brooke's back molars are coming through," I said about to walk out, 

"So that's what the screaming was," Tony said 

I nodded, 

"Sorry," I said 

"No, don't say sorry it pains me knowing little bumblebee is in pain," He said 

I just rolled my eyes, 

I walked into the room hearing the end of a song and seeing Bucky got Brooke to calm down, she had her thumb in her mouth using it to massage the teeth that are hurting, 

"Here little Star," I said handing her the teether, 

She grabbed it and put in her mouth, 

"Feel better?' Bucky asked 

She nodded slowly, 

Bucky slowly went to lower her in the crib but she clung onto him, 

He sighed standing up with her in his arms, 

"This is going to be a long night isn't it?" Bucky said looking at me, 

Brooke laid her head on his shoulder as she gnawed on the teether, she looked at him batting her long eyelashes, 

"I think so pal," I said smiling at the both of them
