Samuel's POV.

My heart needed some time to recover after putting on Luna's necklace.

Being able to be this close to her made my heart go crazy for some reason. She has an effect on me like no other ever had.

I have had some girls in the past, but I never had an emotional connection with them. Not like I have with her.

My body was screaming when she stepped away from me to open the present on her bed.

She carefully opened the gift and had a confused expression when she saw what was in it.

Her whole expression changed in a blink of an eye after reading the note that was in the it.

What could be written on it that caused the fearful look on her face?

"What's wrong?" I asked her carefully while slowly stepping toward her.

I wasn't sure she had heard me because she didn't move a muscle. Luna just stood there as if she was glued to the floor.

Her behaviour was starting to worry me.

"Luna?" I asked again, this time slightly louder.

She finally tore her gaze away from the card, so she could look at me.

Her usual bright eyes were now dull and glossy from the unshed tears. The agony written on her face could be seen from a mile away.

She looked like she could break down any minute.

Seeing her like this made my blood pull tightly in my veins, and my heart clench painfully with every beat.

I would set this world on fire if that made her happy again as she was a few minutes ago.

And in a matter of seconds she completely lost it.

Her breathing got heavier as if the air had turned into water, letting no oxygen reach her lungs.

Her own emotions were literally suffocating her.

Her hands went over to her throat, scratching it out of panic.

"Breathe," I said while gently grabbing her hands so she wouldn't hurt herself.

I cursed myself when I saw it made her state of panic worse.

Fuck.

I felt extremely helpless because I didn't know what to do.

When I heard some noises on the corridor, I sighed in relief.

"You're using Jay and Jasmine's departure as an excuse to disturb them."

I heard Ethan's muffled voice through the wall separating Luna's room from the corridor.

"Of course I do. She's alone with Samuel." Aiden angry hissed at his twin.

"So?"

"He's a boy," Aiden grumbled and opened the door.

It only took them a second to notice that something was wrong.

"Get Isaac," Aiden demanded Ethan.

Luna is in her own world filled with panic and terror, so she didn't move a muscle when Aiden stood before her. Her breathing worsened with the minute.

The red scratches she'd caused in the desperate search for air contrasted with her skin that was paler than usual.

"What did you do?" Aiden asked me harshly without pulling his gaze away from Luna.
