JIN

"Who's your favorite girl group?"

Ahhh, the old age question, a classic during interviews. Seokjin has expected it, prepares for it even.

He tries to mention different girl groups each time to prevent unnecessary drama. Idol fans are a different breed after all, and he prefers not to get involve in any kind of rumor.

But this time it's different. Today, Seokjin was invited to his friend's radio show, Hope World, to promote his new movie and he knows he can't lie or he'll be teased on air.

"Jhope! You already know this! We have the same taste after all." He says, smiling towards the host.
"Your fans are curious, man. They want to know your taste in music."

What harm could it be right? "Well in that case, I like the songs of Red Velvet. They got me throught my military service." Seokjin spoke honestly.

"I agree, I agree. Red Velvet has one of the best discographies in the industry. What's your favorite song, Jin?" Jhope smiles knowingly towards him.

"I really like their song 'Bad Boy.' I appreciate a good RnB vibe."

"Then who is your bias?" Seokjin winced internally. Jhope is really going for the kill here.

He tries his best to deflect. "I don't have a bias. I like them all equally."

And of course, in true Jhope fashion, he doesn't accept the bullshit answer. "You must have a bias. What if one day, they all invite you out for food and you can only pick one member to go with, who would you pick?"

"I would pick Irene."

IRENE

"Ok girls, let's take a fifteen minute break and then we'll go over the choreography again. Drink some water." The choreographer says as she walks out the practice room.

As soon as the door closes behind her, they all proceeded to crash down on the floor, trying to catch their breaths.
"Woah, I feel like I'm dying just from this. And we're not even halfway into the song yet." Yeri exclaims.
"You have to build your stamina, Yerim-ah." Irene chides her in a lovingly. She then takes a mental note to contact their PT instructor for Yeri.

"This song has a more intricate choreo than we're used to. Don't worry, we'll get the hang of it." Seulgi encourages everyone with a smile.

Wendy just groans. "Yeah, tell that to my burning legs." And they all chuckle.

Irene sees Joy at the other side of the room, staring at her phone with an unreadable expression.

"Joy, are you okay?"
Joy looks up at her with a stunned face. "Unnie, we're trending."

It was her turn to be stunned. "What for? We do not have any ongoing projects, as far as I know."

Everyone scurries off the ground to reach for their own phone. Meanwhile, Joy thrusts her phone towards Irene, "Look, we're in the South Korean trends."

"I could see that. But I don't understand why?" Irene trails off, puzzled. She was always on top of their schedule, even solo activities, so this comes off as a surprise.

"Ahhh I get it. Seokjin-nim has mentioned us at an interview." Wendy explains as she browses through sns.

"Seokjin?" Seulgi asks.

"Ohmygod Unnie, you don't know who Seokjin is? As in Kim Seokjin?" Yeri exclaims, totally red in the face.

"Ahhh that Kim Seokjin. The one that played the main lead in that popular drama?"

"Yes! He's my favorite actor. Wow, I can't believe he mentioned us in an official interview. I can now die happily. My idol has acknowledged me." Joy declares, her love for Kdramas showing through.

Irene just laughed at her antics. "Why don't we all calm down and see what he said about us, alright?"

Wendy shows the girls her phone, "Here's the video."

After watching the video, Irene sighed in relief.  There was nothing malicious in the interview. It was just someone famous admitting they are a fan of Red Velvet. It even made her proud to be acknowledged for their music.

"Unnie, did you hear? He said you are his bias!" Yeri squealed, almost bouncing off the walls in excitement.

"I'm sure he was just saying that. He said it himself that he didn't have a bias." Irene countered.

"You're right. But I mean, it's a big deal. He's a huge personality in the industry, but he remains as a private person. Usually, he doesn't like to name names, you know. He doesn't like to attach himself to any one. So it's natural that the public would be interested that you are his bias."Joy added

"I ship it. I'm the first official fan of this ship." Yeri nodded, determined.

Joy raised her hand, "Then I will be the second one!"

Irene just stayed silent. She was used to it. Not to be vain or anything, but a lot of males in the industry have said the same thing. She doesn't take them seriously, of course. They probably just said that because of her face and not her personality, therefore, there's no point in imagining or feeling giddy about it. It just comes with the territory of being an idol. And besides, she's not keen on the hateful messages she would get after this blows up.

Seulgi exchanges a look with Wendy and she knows that she, too, can see the conflict inside Irene's eyes. They both know how Irene struggles with other people mentioning her on interviews and the backlash that she would receive right after. So, she turns to intervene the maknaes in their daydreaming.

"Ok guys, since it's just a random interview, I'm sure it will blow over soon. How about we go over some steps before Sunny Unnie comes back."
