Navy stood behind the corner, leading into the girl's bathroom as Clara continued to whisper for herself — she didn't understand a word to what her friend was saying.

It was a foreign language, and the mumbling made it impossible to make anything out of it.

But she flinched, her fingers grasped around the stone wall as one of the sinks started to open itself, and slowly, the porcelain shifted into a passage.

Clara looked over her shoulder to make sure that no one saw her before she slipped down it.

Navy hesitated. She wasn't clear if this was a good idea, following her friend down to something unknown, yet her mind couldn't ease the idea of not knowing what Clara was up to.

Her small steps echoed over the tile floor as she looked down the darkened entry, and wind breezed from inside it.

She wanted to bring William or Pansy with her, but she didn't dare to leave the passage in case it slammed shut again.

With a deep breath, her eyes sealed, and she let herself down it.

A squeal fled her throat as she sensed her feet land stead on what felt like a rock-covered ground. The slide down the sink made her mind dizzy.

Navy groaned for herself, and she looked around through the dungeons. It was dark, almost frighteningly so, but she kept on following the echoing steps of her friend.

She stumbled over the damp stone. Her hands constantly grasped at the walls of the tunnel so that she wouldn't fall over.

Navy couldn't help but be confused.

She had no idea why Clara would be sneaking down there. A loud slam made her coil back. Her eyes scrunched together as she slowly tripped forward, trying to make out what the girl was up to.

"I will just wait," Clara mumbled to herself before whispering something beneath her breath again, and as she did, a massive door purely made out of stone shifted open.

Navy's eyes grew broad. She didn't want to expose herself as she kept on hiding behind every wall she could find.

"Hi, love." Clara nearly shouted out in the chamber, making Navy wince again.

It was terrifying down here. She didn't understand what she walked in on as she hid behind a majestic statue.

''I'm sorry it took me so long to get down here. I had to...take care of something, but I'm here now, aren't I?"

Silence.

"I missed you too."

Navy's face twisted into a grimace, looking over her best friend as she stood miles underneath the school, talking to no one.

She couldn't see who Clara was talking to, if she even talked to someone.

"With my friends?" Clara spoke up again, "Yes, but they don't know that I'm down here."

Silence.

"No. I haven't told anyone about you."

More silence.

"Of course not. Why would I tell them? I think most of them are mad at me anyway...I messed up, Tom."

Navy's veins iced as she caught onto the name. The same name she saw the black leather book belong to.

Tom Riddle.

"I made a fool out of myself, and now I don't know what to do."

No one said anything.
