In this Kingdom of Hartize, in the continent of Azure Sylva, a predetermined engagement or an arranged marriage between the two person could be renounced or refused by the concerned parties if they didn't come into an agreement to marry each other by the time that they have reached the legal age. In this continent, eighteen years of age was the standard for a person to be in a legal age or marriageable age. Having reached the legal age meant that one was already entering the adulthood.

However, an oath of blood was the most sensitive and serious one rather than any other agreements.

Drawing a simple agreement would only need the signatures or stamps of the insignia or the symbol of the house of the parties in agreement to deemed it legal and official.

Whereas drawing an oath of blood literally translated that upon making this kind of agreement, a drop of blood from the two parties was needed. It was considered as sacred and therefore was deemed as the highest level of agreement that couldn't be violated or rescinded no matter what.

If the terms stipulated on the oath of blood agreement wouldn't be met, severe repercussions would befall on the two parties and they might even be struck with a curse. This was also the main reason why an oath of blood was an inviolable kind of agreement.

Everyone in this continent were aware of this fact.

Thus, for the duke and the duchess, it was clear as a bright summer day that both of them were bound by this oath of blood, no matter what. And they couldn't do anything for it to be dissolved.

"Do you really not know anything about this?" Duke Calex asked.

"I don't really know anything about it, duke," answered Atallie.

The atmosphere around them suddenly turned grim and heavy once again.

"My wife, do you know how this paper ended up in my hands?" Duke Calex asked with his aura surging forth.

What the heck is wrong him? We're both just talking calmly and now he's putting forth the pressure once again!

Atallie was already scowling on the inside. But as usual, her indifference was still plastered on her calm and beautiful face.

"Duke, why bother to ask me this question? If you have something to say, please just speak," said Atallie. Don't dilly dally like a woman. I don't have all day to listen to this.

"Hmp! You're too upfront for a woman, my wife. Well, if that's the case, I won't hold myself to talk straightforwardly with you," said the duke.

Ha! When did you ever tried to minced your words with me?

I just arrived at this mansion yesterday but it seems like it's already been a few days. The days are dragging every time I see his annoying face!

"This!" Duke Calex raised the paper, "I just woke up one morning with this scroll laid beside me, if it happened like that to me, then why would I believe that it wasn't the same case for you?" asked the duke who was currently glaring towards the duchess with his sharp raging eyes.

This woman still tries to deny over and over again! Do you think I'm a fool?

"Do you mind if I ask?" asked Atallie, remaining as composed as before, totally unaffected with the pressure coming from the duke.

"What is it? Go ahead!" Go ahead and keep on lying!

"Duke, couldn't you just accept the possibility that I am truly innocent about this?" asked Atallie, "I already told you yesterday of what has happened to me, being abducted one day and not knowing anything at all, then suddenly, I became a married woman? Do you not know how it made me feel?" Atallie asked coldly. It was evident that the two forces from both of them were crashing against each other.
