Chapter 16: Thanksgiving

Scarlette's POV

*A Few Weeks Later*

"Are you sure I don't look pregnant?" I asked, looking at myself in the mirror from a side angle.

"Yes, I'm sure. Plus, aren't we telling them today anyway? What does it matter?"

"I want to tell them on my own terms. I don't want to walk in and immediately be bombarded with questions."

"I think that ring is going to cause enough questions." He smirked.

"Do we have to go?" I groaned.

"Yes, we already told them we would be there. I've already prepared myself and lost sleep over meeting your parents, we're going."

"You have nothing to worry about." I chuckled.

"Oh hello. I'm your daughter's boyfriend of eight months who you've never met. Oh yeah, I'm also her fiancee, her roommate, and her baby daddy. Nice to meet you."

"Yeah, that is a mouthful." I laughed. "It'll be fine. Once the initial shock wears off they will love you. I promise. They've been so excited to meet you."

"I'll take your word for it. Let's go." He said, walking out of the room. Last week, we officially moved in together. It just made sense with everything in our lives about to change. I only get a few days off for Thanksgiving, so we decided to go to my parents house since they still live in LA. I get more days off for Christmas so that is when we will go to Ohio to be with Andy's family.

I was wearing a loose black dress that went down to my shins and had spaghetti straps. The dress was synched at my waist and then hung loose. Luckily, my body hasn't started to change just yet. I knew I needed something loose and black to hide my small bump so I'm so happy I found this dress. I was wearing black flats and my hair was down and curled. I did a dramatic smokey eye look to try to distract from my stomach and ring.

We got into the car and Andy set the GPS for my parents' house. We sat in silence, both of us extremely nervous. We made it to my parents' house and got out of the car. I took a deep breath before grabbing the dessert that I had made out of the backseat. We walked up to the door and Andy knocked. We waited for a moment before the door opened.

"Scarlette!" My mom exclaimed, pulling me in for a hug. Luckily, it was an awkward hug since I was still holding the desert in front of my stomach.

"Hi mom." I said as she let go of me. "This is my boyfriend, Andy."

"It's so nice to meet you!" My mom said, hugging him next.

"It's nice to meet you too Mrs. Walker." Andy said, hugging her back. They pulled away and my mom stepped aside to let us in.
