You were walking own the road to your and your best
friends, Devin’s, house. You two had been best friends for
pretty much your whole life. Your mums were really good
friends, so as young children you spent a lot of time
together and now you two were inseparable, you did just
about everything with each other!

He was your best friend. But only ever a friend.
For the past few years you have developed a large crush
on Dev, as you called him. Just the way that you two
clicked so perfectly together, he was your other half. You
loved everything about him, he was funny, charismatic,
kind, fun, a little crazy, had a weird addiction to try
different hair styles and he was always there for you no
matter what.

But Devin never seemed to look at you as anything but a
friend, you were positive that he didn’t, and never would,
return you feelings.

You reached your house and walked straight in, giving up
on proper formalities years ago.

“Hey!” You called through the house.

You received some shouts of hellos from Devin’s family
as you ran upstairs to his room.

“WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!!!!!” You screamed as you
jumped on Devin’s sleeping body.

“Go away,” You heard a mumble from beneath you.
You started shaking him harder, ”Devin, Devin, Devin,
get up, get up, get up!!”

“Katrine,” You heard him groan.

“Deeeeevvvviiiiinnnnnnnn,” You groaned back, “I wannnaa do
somethiiinng!! Geettt uppp!!"

"Ugh fine, but get off of me,” He jokingly complained,
swatting your hands off of him.

You reluctantly climbed off of him, pushing him towards the
edge of the bed.

“Now get dressed!” You ordered.

“Yeah yeah, I’m going!” He replied, his husky morning voice
unbelievably sexy.

You sat cross-legged on the middle of his bed, impatiently
waiting for him to hurry up. He grabbed a pair of jeans and
a muscle top from his cupboard before giving you a look.

You put your hands over your eyes, blocking your view as
you got changed. You couldn’t help yourself but take a
quick peek, seeing the strongly defined muscles, rippling on
his back and he put his tight jeans on. You quickly put your
hands back over your eyes, before he turned around.

“Ok, Katrine, I’m done,”Devin finally said.

“Finally!” You called, standing up and jumping off the bed.

You grabbed his hand, sending tingles through your whole
arm, and pulled him out the door.

“Woah Katrine, Where's the fire?” He jokingly asked as he
was pulled along by you.

“I’m really bored,” You whined.

“Well what do you want to do? No! Don’t say anything just
get in my car. I have a surprise.” He smiled.

You had no idea where Devin drove you until you spotted
what makes you smile. .

“It looks beautiful today. Something’s new today, maybe
because the sun is smoothly blended on the edge. I
must’ve driven past it a million times without noticing, but
today there’s something different. Something magical.” You
looked out of the window, admiring it. Devin just smiled
at your words.

“Let’s walk up the field.” Devin said as he parked his car
up and walked to a door that leads to a long corridor and
you realised you forgot where you were again.

It’s easy to
do that when your attention is otherwise occupied by silky
skin and forest eyes. He smiled and walked up the stairs
taking two step each time. You followed him carefully. Your
heart beating faster when you reached the top of it, looking
around.

"I love coming here in the morning when no one is here just
me and the whole atmosphere, you know?”
Devin said,
suddenly there’s this new side of him.

But then he took a ball and kicked it against you and
laughed,“Catch me if you can!”

You shook your head, sighing and laughing, before bolting
after him.

You two ran around the field, laughing like little kids. You
were having an amazing time, that you wished could never
end.

Before you could see him, you felt a strong pair of arms
wrap around you from behind, lifting you up and spinning
you around.

“Got you,”Devin whispered in your ear, sending shivers
down you spine.

“I should have caught you.” You glanced at him.

“Oh.” You both laughed before Devin sat down on the
grass and crossed his legs and patted next to him, you sat
down next to him, trying to ignore the insane levels of
adorable the scene is.

There was a moment of pause between him and you,
something that didn’t happen often. You could feel some
kind of unknown tension, and right as you were about to
break it, Devin cleared his throat.

“Um Katrine,” Devin began, trailing off at the end.

“Yeah Dev?” You asked softly.

“I’m gonna tell you something. Please don’t get scared or
hate me, but, i just can’t keep it in any longer,” He finally
said. “I think it’s just he whole atmosphere and-”
You were a little confused, you and Devin told each other
absolutely everything. Well except about how you were
madly in love with him…

“You can tell me anything Devin,”

“Its just… I …. You are amazing Katrine and why someone as
perfect as you would ever want to hang out with me, still
wonders me.” You wanted to interject, tell him how you
weren’t at all perfect and how it was actually you who
didn’t deserve him, but before you could he kept on talking.

“Katrine, you’re my best friend, you always have been and
always will be. But I can’t just continue like this forever.
Katrine, I love you, I always have and I always will.” You
stayed silent and Devin began to panic.

“What I’m trying to say is, Katrine, i really like you, as more
than a friend. And if, by some chance you happen to feel
the same, then would you maybe want to be, my err,
girlfriend?” Devin finished, looking at you with his big
beautiful eyes full of hope and longing.

You couldn’t help but have your mouth form a huge grin,
“Devin, i would love too.”
