There wasn't a way you could've taken that information without a sense of denial beforehand.

Because.
No.

No, you didn't have siblings. In the very few memories, you did have of your life before All for One, before Shoto, the only child was you.

But then again, memories are the least reliable source. They are so easily manipulated, so easily changed. All it takes is a few pretty words from the wrong mouth and suddenly your past becomes a canvas for its lies.

"Doctor!" All Might yelled, as if an idea had suddenly sprung to his mind. He was panicked, standing quickly, grabbing your physician by the shoulders. "I need to talk to you in private about something."

"Um- but- Shouldn't I start matching the chromosomal data?" your poor doctor wasn't exactly sure why All Might seemed so stressed all the sudden. It was as if the near mention of quirk bonds put him on edge. Turning to his patient the doctor then added, probably not at the right time, "Also, y/n I hate to break it to you but you're going to need some vitamins because even though you're a healthy weight, your diet of just ice cream and sushi is not cutting it."

"Doctor!" All Might, shook the man. "Listen to me- this might be far-fetched, but do you remember when you did work for the police and I- when you tested - um- a certain villain's blood- found out who he really was- who he was related to, maybe you can-"

"The ringing." The interruption came from somewhere else in the exam room than the doctor.

You sat there, on the table, your legs dangling off the edge, your eyes loosely, lazily fixed on the floor as you spoke. It seemed like you were simply thinking. Any sense of emotion right now wouldn't help you. It was best to leave the shock and the dread for a time when it was more convenient.

"What if it's not just when they're close- my quirk counterpart?" You asked, thinning your eyes as if remembering something. "What if it's when they want to reach me too? What if it's when their quirk realizes either one of us could be in danger?"

The doctor scratched at his head with his pen, his shoulders still in All Might's grasp as he wondered.

Quirk bonds, after all, only served the purpose of keeping their collective users safe. But there was no data or theories that supported said quirk to be able to communicate over long distances, so-

"What makes you say that?" All Might asked, even more curious than the doctor.

"During the festival, before I lost my hearing, during my last fight, I thought I was going to die. So did everyone watching on tv screens throughout the world when Atomic imploded." Your tone was unbothered, but there was a detective air to it. Like you were picking up a pattern.

"What if they were watching me?" You whispered. "What if they hear the ringing too?"

"Well, it might be possible," The doctor said, picking up his chart and sifting through some of the pages as he muttered, "but that would make the search for your siblings a bit tougher than original thought, narrowing the search down to- well- the entire world, sort of?"

"Compare her sample to the database," All Might ordered.

"I'd need the police to give me access," Your doctor mentioned, "Usually we can only use the database for labs if the patient is connected to a crime-"

"I killed two people when I was five by suffocating them and I tried murdering the guy who made me do it. Does that count?"

You probably shouldn't have used such a nonchalant tone with that particular bit of information.
