"What are you doing here?" he angrily asked Benedict along with Olivia.
Benedict smiled. "Let's talk inside, Trigger."
"I won't let you step inside my house unless you tell me what the fuck is going on. Why are you with that guy?" mariin niyang tanong rito.
Olivia awkwardly answered. "Trigger, ijo, please. Papasukin mo muna kami para maging maayos ang usapan nating lahat."
He was about to close the door in front of their faces when he felt how Miracle held his arm. "Trigger, papasukin na muna natin sila."
Wala nang nagawa ang lalaki kung hindi pabalyang ibuka ang pintuan. Tinalikuran niya ang mga bisita at marahang hinila ang asawa para sumunod ito.
He sat comfortably on the sofa while Miracle's on his side.
Umupo sa harapan nilang mag-asawa ang tatlong bisita. Benedict flashed a sweet smile before looking at them.
"I haven't introduced you to Attorney Constantino yet. Attorney, this is my son-in-law, Trigger Knights," masigla nitong sabi sa katabi.
Attorney Constantino immediately offered his hand for a handshake. "It's my pleasure to meet you, Mr. Knights."
Walang emosyon na tinanggap ng lalaki ang nakalahad na kamay nito. Pagkatapos ay hinawakan niya ang palad ng asawa at inabot ito sa abogado.
"This is my wife, Miracle."
Tumikhim ang mga magulang ng babae dahil sa pagkapahiya. They didn't even introduce their daughter to the visitor. How fucking rude.
"Hello po," nahihiyang bati ng babae bago makipagkamay sa abogado.
Trigger faked a cough before facing his in-laws. "What are you doing here? If it's about business stuffs, we can talk about it in my company. You don't have to go here."
Si Olivia ang sumagot sa kaniya. "No, ijo, we're not here for our partnership."
Benedict took out an envelope before placing it on top of the table. "We're here for this."
Kunot noong pinagmasdan ng lalaki ang envelope na nakalatag sa harapan nilang mag-asawa. He lifted his head for a second before opening it. Nilabas niya ang isang manipis na papel mula sa loob nito.
Ilang segundong nanatili ang mga mata ni Trigger sa nakabalandrang papeles sa harapan niya. After reading it, he clenched his jaw before laughing devilishly.
Pabalya niyang pinatong ang papel sa lamesa at sinamaan ng tingin ang mga kaharap.
"What the hell is this?"
"Ijo, this is for your own good. I know how much you wanted to get out from this situation. Dahil naging successful ang pag-me-merge ng mga kompanya natin, we thought about this as a gift for you," Benedict answered him.
Nilingon ni Trigger ang asawa nang makita ang kamay nitong dahan-dahang hinahablot ang papeles. He quickly held her wrist to stop her.
"Miracle don't read it, it's just a bullshit paper," he said.
Hindi sumunod ang babae sa kaniya. Hinablot pa rin nito ang papel para basahin kung anong laman no'n.
Her heart stopped a beat when she finally read what's inside it.
It's an annulment paper. Nakahanda na at nakaayos na ang mga kailangang proseso. Pirma na lang nilang mag-asawa ang kulang.
"Don't worry, ijo. Kami na ng tito Benedict mo ang gagastos sa lahat ng kailangan. We just need the both of you to sign this paper and everything will be alright. You'll be free to marry the girl you love, and as for Miracle. Hahanap na lang ulit kami ng lalaking ipapakasal sa kaniya para maging business partners din namin."
Trigger clenched his jaw with that.
"Are you kidding me?" He let out a dangerous laugh.
"What do you think of my wife? A fucking toy?!" Napatayo ang lahat nang hablutin ng lalaki ang kwelyo ni Benedict. Miracle just quietly sat on the sofa, absorbing what's happening around her.
If she signed that paper, Trigger will be finally free. He'll be free to marry the woman he loves.
But if she did this. She'll get married with another guy she doesn't even know. She'll be a puppet again.
Nilingon niya ang asawa na hawak hawak ang kwelyo ng ama niya.
Trigger's freedom in exchange of her pain. Of course, she'll always choose his freedom.
"Trigger, pag-usapan natin 'to--" Hindi na pinatapos ng lalaki ang ama niya sa batas. Agad niya na itong tinulak.
"This fucking paper is fucking nonsense. Lumayas kayo sa pamamahay ko kasabay ang papel na 'to," galit nitong saad.
"But, ijo, we're doing this for your own sake! Bakit ka ba nagagalit sa akin?" madamdaming sigaw ni Olivia habang yakap yakap ang asawa.
"I won't sign that paper so leave--"
Lahat sila ay natigil nang marinig ang ingay mula sa likuran nila. They saw how Miracle took the pen before signing that damn paper.
Lahat sila ay nagulat sa ginawa ng babae.
"I signed it. J-Just listen to them, Trigger. You'll be free after this," she said softly.
Ramdam na ramdam ng lalaki ang pag-usbong ng galit sa dibdib niya. He quickly walked towards the table before grabbing the paper and tearing it apart.
Galit niyang nilingon ang babae. "Why? So you could marry another man and show her how wicked you are?"
Natulala ang babae sa sinabi niya.
"Trigger, h-hindi sa gano'n. Gusto ko lang--"
"I won't fucking sign this, I'd rather see you suffering in my arms than being free." He threw away the paper harshly before throwing death glares over her. "I wasn't mistaken, you're really a fucking bitch who wanted to gain every men's attention. I'll fucking give it to you, Miracle. I'll fucking make you suffer inside this house."
Lahat ay tahimik na pinanood ang galit na lalaki sa pag-akyat nito sa ikalawang palapag ng mansyon.
No one dared to speak up. Until Miracle's sobs filled the whole room. She stood up as she took the envelope. Inabot niya ito sa mga magulang.
"You shouldn't have come here," umiiyak niyang saad.
Benedict angrily grabbed her arm. Napangiwi pa si Miracle sa sakit no'n.
"You need to convince Trigger upon signing. I'll bring another annulment paper to you and begged him to sign it! Kapag hindi mo napapirma ang asawa mo, malilintikan ka sa akin Miracle," galit na banta ng sarili niyang ama bago siya itulak sa sofa.
She just watched her parents leave together with that useless lawyer. Nang masigurong wala na ito sa paningin niya ay pinakawalan niya na ang hikbi na kanina niya pa pinipigilan.
Why does it feel like everyone's blaming her for this? Nagalit ang asawa niya sa kaniya dahil gusto niya itong bigyan ng kalayaan. Nagalit ang mga magulang niya sa kaniya dahil hindi pumirma ang asawa niya.
