"You and Steve have been awfully close as of late."
Susie, who had just been staring at Steve and Robin for the past minute, turned to her sister. She didn't say anything.
"Is there a reason why?" Nancy urged, raising her eyebrows.
"What? No." Susie mumbled, turning away. Nancy paused for a moment, her lips slightly parted.
"You're dating, aren't you?"
"What makes you say that?" Susie wondered.
"Since when?" Nancy ignored her question.
"For god's sake, Nancy, we're not.. dating." Susie exasperated. Nancy sighed, running her hand through her hair. "Somehow, I knew this would happen."
"I take that as an insult. You knew I'd end up with Steve? That's disgusting! God, even my own sister has no hope in me." Susie defended.
"But...you are with Steve." Nancy commented.
"I'm not!" Susie groaned. "I don't know what's wrong with me these days. Maybe it's the drugs." Susie shook her head slowly.
"The drugs?" Nancy widened her eyes.
"It's not what you think, mother. I was drugged by the Russians." Susie rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry, what?!" Nancy was even more shocked at that statement.
"Calm down. I'm fine, now." Susie sighed. Suddenly, Mike stepped forward, and began to speak to the adults who were now waiting for an explanation.
"The Mind Flayer, it built this monster in Hawkins, to stop El, to kill her and pave a way into our world." He explained.
"And it almost did." Nancy spoke up. "That was just one tiny piece of it."
"How big is that thing?" Asked Hopper.
"It's big." Johnathan murmured. "Thirty feet, at least."
"Yeah. It sorta destroyed your cabin." Lucas hesitated. "Sorry..." He whispered. Hopper nodded slowly in disappointment.
"Okay, so, just to be clear, this... this big fleshy spider thing that hurt El, it's some kind of gigantic... weapon?" Steve furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yes." Nancy confirmed.
"But instead of, like, screws and metal, the Mind Flayer made its weapon...with melted people." Steve continued.
"Yes, exactly."
"Yeah, okay. I— Yeah, I'm just making sure." Steve shrugged.
"Are we sure this thing is still out there, still alive?" Joyce wondered.
"El beat the shit out of it, but, yeah, it's still alive." Max responded.
"But if we close the gate again—" Will began.
"We cut the brain off from the body." Max added.
"And kill it." Lucas concluded. "Theoretically."
Susie stood up, and slowly made her way up to Steve. "We're the dumb ones again." Susie whispered.
"We're always the dumb ones." Steve responded.
"That's true." She nodded.
"Yoo-hoo!"
Everyone turned around. Murray extravagantly made his way down towards them, flailing around a bunch of papers.
Once he reached them, he set them down on a food court table. Everyone gathered beside him.
"Okay, this is what Alexei called 'the hub.'" He started, pointing down at a spot on his drawn map. "Now, the hub takes us to the vault room."
