Zedlin
"Daddy, can you please push me?" Nathan asked as he grabbed my hand and led me towards the swings.
I followed and quickly hoisted him in the air, setting him into the swing. When I walked in front of him to see his face, I was shocked to see that he was scowling at me.
And what the absolute fùck, it was like looking at a tiny angry version of myself.
"Hey, what's the matter with you, kid?" I rose a challenging brow at him.
Nathan crossed his arms and huffed loudly, "This is the baby swing! I'm not a baby, daddy!"
I looked over my shoulder and watched Sienna place a hand over her mouth, smothering her giggles.
She knew I fùcked up and she was enjoying it.
"I'm sorry, Nathan. I just didn't want to push you and have you accidentally fall—"
"I hold on very tight and mommy pushes me very gently," he explained.
I smacked my lips together and muttered lightly, "Well, my fùcking bad. Let's try this again."
Nate held out his arms and I lifted him up and carried him down a few swings over to the big swing set.
"Sorry, dude. I know you're a big boy, I just worry — but I'm learning a lot of new things about you," I said, placing him onto the swing and letting him grip the chains.
"It's okay, daddy. I forgive you," Nate said sweetly, making my heart swell with love.
I adored this fùcking kid.
"Thank you, Nate. Now, hold on tight. Daddy's gonna be as gentle as he can be," I told him, walking behind him and gripping the seat on either side.
And I pushed him gently, watching him kick his little legs and squeal with happiness.
"Higher daddy!"
What?! My three and half year old son was already flying in the air pretty fùcking high it seemed.
"Okay, dude!" I shrugged and gave him a harder push.
I watched as his little legs dangled all over as he flew into the air and came swinging back down.
"Jesus, Zedlin! That's too high!" Sienna squawked while frantically running closer to us.
"I don't know babe, I think he likes it," I smirked and pointed up to him as she approached us.
Nate was laughing and screaming like crazy. Sienna's mouth dropped open as she watched Nathan have the time of his life on the swing.
"Babe?" She inquired.
Like she really couldn't understand that she was mine.
But I was just gonna ignore her, that was the best thing I could do for the both of us.
I crossed my arms and leaned against the frame of the swings, letting Nate slow down on his own. And just my luck that his stubborn mother wasn't giving up.
She walked up to me and pressed a finger to my chest, "Pet names, Zedlin? Don't try to act so cute—"
"I'm not, that's just what felt natural to say. Why are you on my asś so hard?" I muttered gently.
"I'm just trying to tread lightly here. You're just trying to like, jump straight into our lives and I just want to keep my head clear — that's all."
Jump into their lives? Well, yeah... how the fùck else did she expect me to fit in? She wasn't making it easy on me, but I wasn't giving up.
