Waking up with a groan on June 30, Maria clamps a hand over Regulus' mouth — who had been blabbering about what he was going to do with her today — opening her eyes slightly to see him with messy hair and a grey hoodie on, his grey eyes grumpy as she stops him from speaking. They're now staying in an apartment they rented in Paris, somewhere Regulus had insisted they go for Maria's birthday so she had shrugged and agreed. Regulus, now being seventeen, is allowed to perform magic and apparate, so the trips been a lot easier their last five days.

"Stop—talking." Maria grumbles as she slowly sits up and rubs her tired eyes, Regulus placing a long kiss on her bare shoulder just next to the strap of her tank top. Maria sighs and looks out the large window, through the gaping curtains and seeing the blue sky and hearing bird chirping and sees a few people sat out on their balconies. She looks back at Regulus who's lips twitch slightly

"It's your birthday, you know?" Regulus raises an eyebrow and Maria rolls her eyes.

"Really? I didn't know."

"Stop it." Regulus says, giving her a look and she smiles triumphantly. "Happy birthday." Regulus sighs and Maria makes an 'awe' sound, kissing just above his jaw delicately. "Turn around." He says softly and Maria does as he says, turning so her back's to him.

"This isn't the part when you kill me, is it?" Maria asks sarcastically.

"Ha ha." Regulus rolls his eyes, Maria feeling him slowly move her hair over her shoulder and she feels something cold in between her collarbones as Regulus fastens a chain behind her neck and slowly moves her hair back into place. Maria brings a hand up and feels a ring slung through a chain, gently taking the ring and lifting it so she can examine it, seeing words in cursive engraved into the silver.

"amants maudits?" Maria furrow sher eyebrows and Regulus smiles, handing her a book. She turns it over and sees the cover of 'Romeo and Juliet' with a page marked, she looks up at Regulus who shrugs with a soft smile and she opens the book to the prologue that's marked. Then, she sees a few of the words are in a different colour.

'From forth the fatal loins of these two foes, A pair of star-cross'd lovers'

Maria looks up at Regulus in awe and he shrugs.

"This. . .this is gorgeous." Maria breathes, looking at the ring before throwing her arms around Regulus' neck, the two of them tumble back onto the mattress, both laughing uncontrollably as Maria sits on him, her knees either side of his waist and their foreheads together as they continue to giggle.
They go silent as Regulus leans up and captured her lips with his and Maria smiles against them, her hands either side of his face and his gently on her hips.
