I glanced at the clock, in my room. I buried my face into my pillow and let out a small squeal of excitement. Finally, it's 1:AM! I just wanted to go to this party so bad! I've been dying to go to this party, except dad, didn't want me to go, like at all. Probably because it's so late, but come on, I'm the daughter of James Buchan Barnes, I can take care of myself. Aunty Natasha gives me enough training lessons for a lifetime!
I quickly smoothed out my bed and made sure that my prop and the mannequin worked. I turned on, the device, that I made with Uncle Tony, and yes! It worked! It basically mirrors my sleeping position, to the mannequin making it look like I'm actually there sleeping, and no, Uncle Tony doesn't know this is why I made the device.
I made my way to my mirror and smoothed out my black skirt, the skirt may be a bit short, but that's fine, dad may not agree with me. I looked at myself in the mirror, my soft brown hair fell past my shoulder, with light brown highlights, my makeup was subtle, but it looked good on me. I was happy with my look. I smiled, grabbed my car keys, and slowly twisted the doorknob, to exit my room. I wandered around the hallway, of the Avengers Tower, my black heels clicked as I nervously glanced around, hoping that nobody found me here.
Dad is really protective of me, he has every right to be. After everything he went through, I don't blame him. But this party, I've been waiting for for ages, I can't let my friends down, I just can't. I'm usually the kid to listen to their parents, straight A's, disciplined, polite, doesn't swear (at least not when Uncle Steve's around), like how do I put it...The goody-two-shoes? Yeah, that's me. But you gotta have some fun sometimes am I right?
I went down the stairs, hesitating to take the elevators, since well... FRIDAY can be a snitch sometimes, but I dismantled her, for now. But taking the elevator would be too much of a risk. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that the coast was clear, and no one was around. I quickly made my way to the door, to outside. One more step and then I can have the party I've always wanted to go to-
"Where are you going, Doll?"
I froze, oh shit. Oh no. I could maybe take one more step, and just book it, and maybe stay at Pete's house till things calm down?
I took half a step.
"Take one more step, and you won't leave this tower for a whole year."
I let out a nervous chuckle, and turned around, whistling lightly, "So... what are you doing here?"
Dad narrowed his eyes at me, "Just what are you wearing...?"
I rolled my eyes, and crossed my arms, "A skirt..."
"Just how short is that thing?"
"Short enough."
Dad looked at me, "You better stop acting like that." He crossed his arms, "Where were you going-"
"What the hell are you two doing here?" Dad turned around to see who it was, while I glanced behind him, my face paled. Shit, everyone's awake now. I laughed nervously, "Yeah... I'm gonna go to sleep-"
Steve grabbed my hand out of nowhere, "What are you doing this late at night-"
Sam stepped in, "Sneaking out?" I gave a level 10 death glare that Nikki teached me, yeah that shut him down.
Dad ran a hand through his hair, "SNEAKING OUT WHERE?" said Dad while pacing back and forth infront of me.
Tony smirked, "It failed, didn't it?" I shrugged, "Hey, atleast I tried," Dad glared at me, "What a plus for effort?"
Natasha acted like she was thinking, "Hmm, that dress seems just right for-" I quickly went over to her, and clamped her mouth, "Yeah...just-just to sleep? Sleep." Thor frowned, "Is that this thing you midguards call pajamas?"
"Yeah that's not pajamas," Wanda giggled.
"What are you doing out here, 2 in the morning?" called Clint from the couch.
"Well that's an excellent question , and I definitly have an answer." I menatlly face-palmed, right now would be a good time for the floor to swallow me up. Uh, I don't hink I can attend that, anymore.
"What do you mean by that?," Dad yelped. I flinched-oops, I said that out loud.
"Nothing!" Yeah I think there's no way I can get out of this, without getting grounded for 3 months.
"Then what were you doing?" Steve chimed in. I looked at me feet, tapping them anxiously, I could pratically feel the truth, honour and justice, pouring out of him.
"I was-uh, admiring the stars, yeah. Y-yeah, stars," I answered, "Can I go to bed? I'm tired, plus I have school tommorow."
"Doll, it's summer vacation."
I interanally cringed, just why? Why can't I lie when my life actually depended on it? If dad knew I was going to the party I'm going to be grounded 100%
"Then what were you doing?" Dad questioned. Tony put on a smug expression, "I can scan you for anything...
"Oh, my god Tony! I won't be on drugs or anything!" I pinched the bridge of my nose, "Fine, I'll tell you where I was going." I paused for effect, Dad was staring a hole into my forehead, "I was gonna go out on a late night party." I froze at what I said, and booked it out of the room.
