who will be there when morning comes
when the shadows you hide in have lifted
if the jury cried for an innocent man's guilt
who would walk to the gallows with you
when there's nothing left for the crowd to see
even here as we stand with lingering hands
who is going to reach out and touch you
when all you know is a world that fades away
will you stand alone as they strip you down
who would run through the flames with you
when cowards leave you to a silenced burn
i was always the one ready to give it all
