I was riding around with Tank puffing on a blunt
"What are we doing?" He asked me again
"Don't fucking worry about it! Just drive!"
"That's what I've been doing, where are we going bro?" He asked
"I don't know." I said taking a big hit
"You gone tell me what happened? Is Boogie alright?"
"She's pregnant." I said admitting it out loud for the first time since I left the hospital. To be honest this shit scared me more, now than before.
"Shit for real?"
"Naw nigga for play."
"Don't get mad, but is it yours?"
"She said it is but been held up with that nigga for weeks."
"Come on though man it's Lauren, you know she wouldn't lie like that."
"Do I still know her? It's been two years, shit is different now."
"Because she ain't sitting back taking your shit no more?" He said and I shot him a dirty look
"I'm your boy I've been with ya'll since day one so I'm keep it real with you. Lauren ain't ugly." He said and I laughed
"Nigga you been looking at my girl?" I took another hit
"Everybody looks at your girl, but she's only looks at you even after everything. Just think about that." He said as my phone rang I looked at it
"What's up Ma?"
"We're leaving the hospital, I want your ass home by the time we get there."
"I don't feel like talking tonight ma."
"Boy don't make me come find you." She said then hung up
"Back to the crib then?"
"Yep."

Lauren
We sat in the living room I had my head on Dru's shoulder as he had an arm wrapped around me. I turned my phone on after I left the hospital, and was full of missed calls, and texts all from Michael. I called Myia telling her I was ok, then I turned it back off. We were waiting for Cane. He finally showed up about ten minutes later
"Oh my God." I said covering my nose he smelled bad, that weed was strong.
He sat in the chair,
"Alright Lauren I'm going to ask you this one and don't lie to me. was that motherfucker hitting you?'
"Yes," I sighed I felt Dru tense then he kissed my head
"I'm sorry Lo."
"Why didn't you say nothing?" Diana asked
"I didn't just take it." I said and I heard Cane make a noise I looked at him
"I did it for you." I said to him and he frowned and sat forward
"What you talking about?"
"I was done with him because I saw he was become possessive, and he would grab me and push me when he got upset. He showed up after you hit you him. he knew who you were, what you were locked up for, and he had direct access to your PO. He threatened to send you back to jail."
"You should have came to us, we got people in the police, I could've called Lorenzo. You didn't have to deal with that." Mo said and I shook my head
"I fought back, and that's when he had Cane brought in he was put on home monitoring. So, I went and talked to my uncle."
"You went and talked to Davis?" Cane asked
"Yeah, the past month he pulled up that evidence on your PO and got you the new one."
"You did that for me?" He said, and I looked down I didn't want to look at him
"Ok, you're coming home until we deal with his ass. I don't want no more shit out of you, you staying here and you gone drive your damn car, and get rid of that raggedy ass apartment."
"Monet,"
"Tell her ma." Cane said
"You make me sick." I said to him
"As for the two of you I'm sick of ya'll shit! Be together or stay away from each other, because right now it's not about you two anymore! You got a child coming in this world so it's time to grow up." She shouted looking at Cane
"Why you looking at me?"
"Tomorrow morning 10'o clock deacon is expecting ya'll." She said and we looked at her like she was crazy
"Ma you called deacon?" Dru asked
"Hell yeah it's going to take a miracle from God to get this shit together."
Deacon Robert Stewart, is Monet's father they hadn't spoken in years. He cut her off when she got with Lorenzo, and the only effort he ever made was to occasionally see his grandkids but other than that, they both acted like the other never existed.
Cane and I looked at each other, I don't know about him but I was going to try for Mo
