after he finished I called my siblings out to come eat dinner. I felt numb. I didn't know what to feel, how WAS I supposed to feel.. my mom woke up and came over to eat

mom: you brat, you know I don't like mushrooms
lisette: right... sorry

she gave me her plate and I picked out the mushrooms for her, then slide it back to her. I made eye contact with matthew and he smirked, I furrowed my brows and I squished my thighs together, putting my hands on my lap.

mom: aren't you gonna eat

I was spaced out but I slowly shook my head to the question. they finished up eating and I cleaned up the kitchen, my siblings helping. I took them a bath and then tucked them into bed

lisette: okay, I have to go now
iris: be careful on your walk back

I kissed her forehead and forced a smile

lisette: I will
alessandro: are you.. I saw what he did.. i'm sorry
lisette: ..

I wasn't okay, at all

lisette: don't worry about it.. just get some sleep, i'll see you guys tomorrow

I gave him a peck and turned the candle off, the only source of light they had when the sun went down. I locked the door behind me and closed it

lisette: i'm heading off..
mom: off to play hero again? what a waste
lisette: yeah well, at least i'm doing something with my life

I said under my breath as I opened the door. matthew slammed the door shut up pulled my back from my hoodie, my ass hitting the floor

matthew: what'd you say? you little shit!
lisette: I didn't say anything!

I held my skirt down, he smirked. I looked over at my mom who looked concerned, but she refused to go against him. he slapped me again, this time he hit my ear and I heard a loud ringing noise, along with my vision going blurry

mom: matthew, that's enough

he put his fist down and looked at me. he let me go and scoffed, sitting back down with my mother. I got up and left back to school.

josiahs pov:

I woke up around 10 due to the sun hitting my face, I closed the blinds and then went back to bed. for some reason I remembered the lisette situation. specifically when we hugged and she looked up at me. my cheeks started getting hot and I covered my face with my pillow

josiah: ugh..

I finally got up and went to go take a shower, then went downstairs to eat. my plate was covered in plastic wrap, with a note 'left your allowance on the counter, i love yous! - mama' I ate and washed my plate then went to go get the allowance my parents had left me. I opened the envelope and looked at the money. I stared at it for a bit and then put it back on the counter. the doorbell rang and I ran downstairs

quinn: hey bitch
josiah: ugh it's you

she chuckled and pushed my head out of the way as she walked in and sat down on the couch

josiah: let's go buy some snacks to sneak in to the theater
quinn: why? there are snacks at the theater
josiah: yeah but they're expensive for no reason
quinn: you act like we can't afford them

she chuckled

josiah: shut your face and let's go
quinn: fine!

she sighed and got up from the couch and we left.
