(Third POV) bus

"Back to your seat." Coach yells after he blows on his whistle. A student rolls his eyes at coach and returns to his seat. He passes Isaac and Boyd. Boyd is frowning heavily and Isaac is trying to calm him down. "Stop thinking about it, man." Isaac says, making Boyd huff.

"Like you're not thinking about it, too?" Boyd asks skeptically, making Isaac frown. "Well both stop thinking about it." Isaac then suggests, making Boyd shake his head. "I can't." Boyd says, making Isaac sigh. "Well, there's nothing you can do about it, either." Isaac says, making Boyd frown. "You sure about that?" he asks, before looking back at where Ethan and Danny are sitting.

"Everything okay?" Danny asks Ethan, making him look at him. "Yeah. Why?" Ethan asks confused. "You checked your phone three times in the last five minutes..." Danny says, making Ethan shrug his shoulders. "Waiting on a message." He explains. "Anything important?" Danny asks concerned, making Ethan shake his head. "No. Nothing." He says.

(Your POV) bus

I look behind me at Scott with a frown. I'm sitting in the seat in front of Stiles and Scott on the bus. I still can't believe what happened last night. I can't believe what happened to Derek. I sigh when I see Scott weakly look out of the window. I know he feels like it's all his fault, when it really isn't.

"Scott?!" I ask softly, when I hear that he doesn't respond to Stiles. "Hey, yo! Scotty? Still with me?" Stiles then asks as well, making Scott weakly nod at us. "Yeah, sorry. Uh, what's the word?" Scott asks tiredly, making me frown at him. "Anachronism." Stiles says again, making Scott think.

"Something that exists out of its normal time." Scott says, making me nod. "Nice! Okay, next word—'incongruous.'" Stiles says, making me scoff at the word. "Uh, can you use it in a sentence?" Scott asks, making me scoff again. "I can! It's completely incongruous that we're sitting on a bus right now, on our way to some stupid cross-country meet, after what just happened. Incongruous." I say sarcastically, hearing Stiles hum in agreement.

"Out of place, ridiculous, absurd." Scott says tiredly again. "Perfect. Okay, next word. Um... Darach." Stiles then says, making me look back at him with a raised eyebrow. "Darach. It's a noun?" he asks Scott and I, before sighing heavily. "We have to talk about it sometime, okay? And we're gonna be stuck in this thing for, like, five hours, so why not?" Stiles asks, making me sigh and turn in my seat, so my back is turned towards the two boys.

I suddenly get a whiff of blood and I frown at the smell. "Next word... 'Intransigent.'" Stiles says. "Stubborn, obstinate..." Scott answers. I then turn my head towards him with a frown and Stiles notices. "What?" Stiles asks me confused, but I keep my eyes on Scott. "You're still hurt?" I ask him in disbelief, making Stiles frown at his best friend. "What?" Stiles asks confused. "You're still hurt, I can smell it... why didn't you say anything?" I ask confused, seeing Scott shrug his shoulders.

"I'm fine." He weakly says, but I'm not convinced. "We shouldn't have come. I knew it-- we shouldn't have come." Stiles then says with worry. "We had to. There's safety in numbers." Scott says, making me nod at him. "He's right." I say to Stiles. "Yeah, well, there's also death in numbers, okay? It's called a 'massacre'." Stiles says exasperatedly, making me raise my eyebrow at him.

"...Or 'bloodbath...' 'Carnage...' 'Slaughter...' 'Butchery..'." Stiles lists off, making me huff and roll my eyes. "Stiles..." I say, motioning with my eyes at a groaning Scott. "All right, I'm telling Coach..." Stiles begins, but Scott stops him. "No, no, no, no, I'm all right." Scott interrupts, making me frown at him.
