Ch44- Angel of Death

Skylar

The screams were terrifying; the ground shook as people started running. She oozed such power, such evilness. Her black hair billowed in the wind, as if creating a black halo around her head. I have never been more terrified before in my life. I can’t believe this was her. This was my Luna. My precious Luna, the girl I have had a crush on since I was a little boy. The slave girl I bought from the market. She was in front of us all, her fiery gaze glared down upon us.

People were running past me, bumping into me. I stumbled but I remained still, in my place. I couldn’t speak, I was shell shocked. She raised her hands high into the air and the ground beneath me started shaking, steam rose steadily into the air as the smell of death wafted through the air.

I didn’t even notice the other angel next to her. My thoughts were just consumed by her, by her terrifying, almost surreal beauty. The ground started cracking and slowly, white bony hands started appearing through the ground. Horrid, blood curdling screams left their mouths as they ran after the other creatures, attacking them brutally.

I was still stock still, my sword hung limp in my hand. She turned her gaze left and right, her eyes glinting with happiness at the carnage she was creating. Her gaze landed on me and my breath caught in my throat and I choked slightly.

It was just so intense, those red, fiery eyes swirled with unnamed emotions and she flew straight towards me. Her black dress flew out behind her as she zoomed straight towards me, her wings beating fast in a black flurry of feathers.

She stopped right in front of her, her breath came out in short gasps. She reached her hand out, her pale tiny hand. She stroked my cheek softly, her eyes trying to communicate words that I could not fathom. I touched her had softly, it was so cold. So very cold.

“Luna,” I breathed, my eyes glazing over.

“Shh,” she whispered in the chaos that surrounded us before she spun around, lightning fast and held the angel by the throat that had tried to kill her.

“What, do you think you’re doing?” she asked slowly, her head titled to the side in a mocking glare. The angel could only gasp and splutter as his air supply was slowly being cut off. She smiled at him, like a cat that caught its prey.

I watched in morbid fascination as black tendrils flowed from her arms up into the boys face. He opened his mouth wide, in a silent, terrified scream. His eyes rolled back into his head, black mist surrounded Luna.  The boys face was a ghastly white, he started shaking. All the while Luna’s eyes shone with...strength? What was she doing?

Was she draining this boy’s energy? Was she killing him? Right in front of me?

“Luna, Luna, please stop, you’re killing him,” I whispered softly, my voice cracking. She whirled around so fast I thought her neck was going to break.
