Once when The King Akbar
Heard the news of a great theft,
In the house of a minister
Who lived in the cottage at the left.

He lived near the fort
The thief can't be a stranger,
And if it was a minister only
He can be the court's danger.

So to find out who did this
Birbal bought a donkey at the court,
He asked every minister to touch
The donkey's tail that he bought.

In the end everyone's hand
Was checked by Birbal carefully,
While everybody had a black mark
On their hands very ugly.

But one man did not possess it
Because he did not touch the tail,
In fear of being caught red-handed
But his intention was a real fail.

Birbal said, "The donkey's tail
Had black ink on its tip,
And he is caught not touch it

As he tried his hardest to skip.

The thief was caught and executed
The minister got his money back,
It was so easy to find the criminal
By just some ink of colour black.

So that's how 'The Clever Birbal'
Proved himself the smartest of all,
And with his great skills, he won
The hearts of the crowd in the hall.
