Chapter 35: Confession

Author's Note: This update took longer than expected and I apologize for that. Things were just hectic for me starting from finding a job, figuring out what I want to do, forcing myself to stop being lazy. Lol. And also, I've been reading Yuri Light novels the past month (Otherside Picnic, I'm in love with the Villainness, etc.) that's why I took a break recently. Hehehe

"I think it would be better if we do it this way." Kana said as she drew an outline

"You're the master at this so I'll just go along with whatever you say." said Nami in a casual tone. Both girls were settled on Kana's room as they discussed their pair project

Kana scribbled down some pointers while Nami laid down on the bed

"I wonder how the others are doing" Kana mused. "You think Y/N-chan and her partner is already done with theirs?"

"They're also working on it. In fact, Moriya-san is staying overnight in our house."

Kana stopped writing and Nami quickly assured her.

"There's nothing to worry about. As far as I'm concerned, those two idiots are not dating or anything."

"I see.." Kana made a thinking expression. "Moriya-san and Y/N-chan are quite close, don't you think so?"

"Hmm." Nami sat upright." I guess so? I don't really remember how those 2 got close, though."

Kana hummed in response and Nami thought that the girl might be worried. She decided to ask Kana about her moments with Y/N

"So... how far did you and Y/N go? The two of you spent a lot of time in the past week, right?"

"E-Eh?"

"Did you guys kissed and stuff?"

"Nami!" Kana blushed and Nami smiled faintly.

" I see.. so it went well." Nami gazed forward and Kana stole a glance at her

"Thank you, Nami."

"Hm?"

"You're always taking care of me. I'm a coward and can't do anything on my own." Kana placed a hand on her chest. "You gave me courage, Nami.."

Kana looked at Nami with yearning eyes

"It's all thanks to you, Nami.."

"So it's all my fault." thought Nami with a wistful smile.

"I masked my deceitful lies with empty words of encouragement. Instead of being straightforward like how I usually am, I chose to deny my feelings."

Nami released a sigh

"This must be my punishment."

Y/N's words flashed back on Nami's mind. It gave Nami an encouragement to tell Kana how she feels about her

"Perhaps I can still change the outcome, even if it seems futile." Nami glanced at Kana.

"Even if the chance is low.."

"Hey, Kana...."

The girl looked back curiously and met Nami's steady gaze

"I like you... ever since the moment I first met you."

Kana was surprised at the words and she had a staring contest with Nami. After a while, she spoke her response

"Me too.. Nami, you're the greatest friend  I can hope to have.. Now and forever."

Nami looked down and smiled bitterly

"Like I thought.. it did seem futile."
