         ONE MONTH LATER

Bryan was in his office, trying to get some work done on his computer when his phone rang. He didn't bother looking at the caller ID to know who was calling, as he was concentrated on the contract papers he was going through on his computer.

"Hello, Bryan?" Amy's soft voice took his attention away from his computer.

"Amy, is everything alright?" He asked in concern, wondering why she was calling him during working hours.

"Um... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to call you at this hour, I thought it was lunchtime, but I guess I was wrong... I'll call you later, if that's okay with you" she rambled.

Bryan could hear the nervousness in her voice and it got him concerned.

"It's okay, Amy. You didn't call at a wrong time." He encouraged, hoping it would get her to say something.

"Are you sure?.. I really can call you later." She said in a quiet voice.

Bryan remembered the last time Amy gave him a sudden call, it was past midnight but it was something urgent and important, so he doesn't think this call would be less important. He only hopes she isn't in some kind of danger.

"I wasn't really doing anything before you called, so it's alright. You can tell me what's wrong." He lied.

"I. Um. I can't tell you on the phone... Can you come over?... Please?"

Bryan took a deep breath, contemplating whether or not to abandon the task he had at hand and go over to meet Amy, or try to convince her to tell him what she wants to say on the phone because he ought to have gone through all the contract on his computer by the end of the day.

"I know I shouldn't be calling you. The person I should be talking to right now is my dad, but I feel like I should tell you first." Amy continued, and that was all Bryan needed to make his decision.

He closed his computer, concluding that he would certainly be done with going through the contracts by the end of the day, even if it meant depriving himself of sleep. He needed to know what was troubling Amy and probably help her with a solution, since she trusted him enough to call him first, which has never happened except for the time she almost got raped, and that was because Henry was away on a business trip.

Bryan quickly sent a text to his chauffeur, telling him to get his car ready before putting on his blazer and leaving his office. When he got outside his company building, he saw his chauffeur already holding the door open for him. With a wave of his hand, he dismissed his chauffeur. He was in a hurry and wasn't in the mood for formalities, so he got to the driver's seat and drove himself to Henry's place.

Amy's heart was pounding in her chest as she waited for Bryan in the living room. When he hung up without giving her a reply, she had thought he wasn't going to come because he was busy, making her feel like a total idiot for calling him during office hours, but that lasted only for a couple minutes as she got a quick text from him saying he was on his way. She felt relieved and excited after reading the text, but as the seconds ticked, her excitement turned into nervousness. She wondered what Bryan would think of her, or how he'd react when he finds out why she called him over.

Is she making the right decision?

Her thoughts were all over the place when the door bell rang, indicating that Bryan had arrived. She quickly composed herself and went to get the door.

"I came as soon as I can... Is everything alright?" Bryan said the moment Amy opened the door. He couldn't help but take a proper look at her, searching for any signs that would give away the fact that she was hurt in any way.

Besides her nervousness, which he could sense, Amy didn't look hurt, rather, she looked more beautiful in her black and white off shoulder jumpsuit. Her hair was in a tight ponytail and her makeup looked flawless.

So, why did she sound like she was bothered about something?

"Thanks. Come in." She quietly said, not meeting his eyes.

Bryan decided not to ask her any questions, so as not to make her even more nervous. He quietly sat on the couch as she gently closed the door behind her.

Amy took a deep breath before turning around to face Bryan. He noticed the difficulty she was having at the moment and hoped that she would eventually open up.

"I'm supposed to be telling this to my dad, but I'm scared he'd get mad at me, or... Probably hate me" Amy finally said when she picked up the courage.

"Don't say that. Henry can never hate you... He's your father." Bryan assured her. Just then his phone beeped, indicating that he had a message.

"Excuse me." He then said, earning a nod from Amy.

He opened the text and saw that it was his P.A, informing him that the shareholders meeting would start in twenty minutes. He quickly sent a text back, telling his P.A that he would be back in an hour, so the meeting should start without him.

After sending the text, he switched off his phone so no one would interrupt their conversation, he didn't want Amy to feel uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry about that." He apologized as he put his phone away.

"No, no. I should be the one aapologizing." Amy countered, mentally warning herself to get her timing right next time.

"Princess, talk to me... What's going on?" Bryan asked in a soft voice, hoping to cajole her into saying something.

Amy closed her eyes and prepared herself for whatever outcome this conversation was going to bring.

"I'm in love with someone." She confessed in one breath.
