Ok guys I think I need to explain a few things here. This story is set up in India. So the education system here is quite different. I will explain some of the terms used in this book here.
1. Std- it means STANDARD...just like how you have 8th grade, 9th grade on western countries...we have 8th std and 9th std here....
A child starts his schooling at 3...and when she/he is at 5, one starts with 1std...so when she/he is 15/16, they complete high school. Then we have pre-university education for 2 years. This is basically preparing yourself to join professional courses after 2 years. In india you start a professional education at 18.
So Sakshi is currently 21 in this book...in final year of her bachelor's degree.
2. And also the duration of bachelor's is different for different courses. For Sakshi...she's doing arts..so her duration of course is 3 years.
3. IIT- Indian Institute of Technology
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is a group of educational institutes in India set up by the government to produce high quality scientists, engineers and technologists. ..basically it's the best institutes for engineering in the country.
