"Either you put your phone down, or I'll break it."
"Merlin's ballsack, bunny! You scared the shit out of me!" Lily exclaimed and I laughed sitting next to her. "Here. It's key-lime."
"Good because I'm getting cravings. And no, I'm not pregnant." I pointed the fork at her and she raised her hands in surrender. "So, what's on your mind Speckles?"
"It's your toerag of a brother." Lily sighed looking at the floor and I sighed.
"What about him?"
"Why doesn't he just ask me out? It's easier that way!"
"Were you born yesterday? Or were you obliviated? Because if I remember correctly, you were the one who always called him a-"
"Arrogant, disgusting, smelly toerag. I know, I know. No need to remind me." Lily mumbled and I nudged her with my feet.
"Look, Speckles. My brother may be an arrogant, smelly toerag, or whatever. But whatever he felt for you all those years ago, it was real. He may have been a dumbass and showed it in ways that may have pissed you off, but he truly has feeling for you. It only took you what? Seven years for you to notice? I honorary thought it was going to happen after we graduated if I'm being honest." I smirked and she pushed me slightly.
"When did it all turn so complicated, Vix?" Lily asked sadly.
"Around the time we hit puberty, Lils. Just ask him out before he starts to think you're stringing him on for like the hundredth time. He's starting to think that you hate him for real this time and that you don't like him. You have no idea how much I have to sneak him to the forest just so he can pour his heart out and even cry for a while. Now look, I love you to death and I'd be honored to have you as my sister. But for the love of Salazar Slytherin and all things magic, grow a damn pair! I have a bet going around and I would like to win. So whenever you're going to do it, make sure it's on a Thursday. That's mine and Reg's day." I smirked and took a bite out of her pie. "We should do this more often with the rest of the queens. Only Sunny and me go on pie runs in the middle of the night."
"We really should. And fine, I promise that before the week before the ball I'll ask James if he hasn't asked me yet." Lily sighed dramatically and I smiled hugging her.
