EILA to TOM
or
the SAVIOR to the DEVIL

" i suppose it wasn't the light i had found after all.

it had seemed like it at first, but the words never even reached you. i tried. i really did try.

are your heart and soul so cold, so iced over and frozen solid, that the words with the most meaning-- the words soaked in warm sincerity and dripping with rays of the needed sun, the words that i wanted to say for so long,
so i could save you--
are your heart and soul so cold that not even those words
could help,
could do anything-
could even light up your eyes for a sliver of a second?

not even my presence was enough.
it did nothing.

we all tried, yet we faded from that place in your mind where you put things you think are worthy. i'm not sure if any of them really loved you, loved you like i used to, at least.

they feared you instead.

i know you never felt any love towards us. you said yourself that you cannot love.

it all became mangled and twisted and horrifyingly real, like what that girl
who hasn't felt the genuine embrace of sleep in centuries,
sees at night.
do you ever think about her, like i do?

it wasn't the light i found.
it had felt warm and eye-opening like the sun often is,
but it was a duplicitous darkness that hurt us all,
including you,
in one way or another. "
