{Vivians POV}

"I don't know why we have to do everything today if prom isn't until next weekend?" I groan while laying on the bench in the boutique store my mother dragged me to after hearing that John promposed to me in front of the whole school during lunch today,

"Everyone's already been shopping for the perfect clothes to look their best since many months ago and you need to look the absolute best, especially knowing the fact that your mate is the prince and everyone will wanna be seeing the cutest couple of mates at the prom, being the prince and his beautiful mate that is the one and only you of course. My daughter and her mate the alpha kings brother in law. I've never been more happy in my life than now" She gushed while excitedly looking through all the lavish gowns surrounding us in the store,

It's been 4 months since John and I's first date and ever since then, my mothers been overreacting with everything we do together.

John decided after our first date, that he was going to take me out on even more dates once a week. And he never broke that promise. But every time he did take me out, my mother would be ten times more excited than me. She'd purposely wait for him at the front door to give him a container of her home baked pastries that she used to only make for our own family, well until John came around now.

And that wasn't even the worse thing yet. While I'm getting ready for our dates, she would take the time to ask John a bunch of personal questions about how he feels about me and how she wants to have grandkids soon. And that pretty much scares any regular young 17 year old males.

I mean, John wasn't scared of the thought of commitment since he's just like my mother, he's also very excited about our relationship moving forward instead of backwards judging on how we were before our first date.

"Now come over here and try out some of the gowns I picked out for you" She continues while gesturing me to get up from the bench and into the changing room,

I grabbed the five dresses she chose and headed into one of the dressing rooms.

Of course most of the dresses she chose were red. Ever since I was born, my mother loved dressing me up in red and my brother in blue.

I don't know why she did it, I think my father said she had a thing against baby girls having to wear pink right when they're born. But I'm guessing she had to one up the color pink and instead make it red.

"Oh my gosh! You look so beautiful" My mother gasps when I walk out in the first gown she chose,

Rolling my eyes, I knew she was going to be saying that for all the dresses I was gonna try on since she's always done that since I was a child trying on church dresses.

It wasn't until I finish trying on all the dresses that my mother decided on asking my opinion on which one I liked best. Which in her mind is basically me picking one dress and her totally going against my choice and voicing out her opinion on which dress she thinks is the best on me, and in that situation the conclusions always ends up with us going home with the choice of clothing she liked instead of me.

"Mom, I really don't care which one you buy. Just pick one and let's go home, I'm starving" I groan while handing her all the dresses in my arms,

"No. Vivian this is your day. Your moment with your mate. You have to choose the gown you will feel the most confident and happy in. You know you and your mate the best, so I can't choose which one will make you both remember this moment for the rest of your life" She says holding me back from leaving the store as I let out a sigh before nodding,

"This one" I reply holding out the dress I liked the best as she made a surprise look before looking back at my face finally nodding at my choice,

"Let's pay for it and choose some heels that'll go with it at a different store before I change my mind" She says quickly guiding me to the register,
