"Brinley Fukuda-Gray!"

I groaned and buried myself deeper in the safety of my blankets.

My bedroom door banged open.

"Brinley, you have got to get up. Come on," a familiar voice said.

In my mind, I contemplated on whether I should sacrifice the warmth of my blankets or go out into the cold. However, the decision was made for me when my blankets were violently ripped away.

I opened my mouth to protest, but froze.

There were 3 pairs of eyes blinking at me. All seemed familiar, but I couldn't remember where I had seen them before. However, there was one that I recalled.

"You!" I burst out pointing at the boy on the far right sitting on the edge of my bed.

Shock registered in his eyes and he pointed at himself, "Me?"

I nodded, "I know you. You were that guy the other night. You were stalking me!"

He looked flustered, "What? No! I wasn't stalking you, Brin!"

I crossed my arms, "Then how do you know my name and where I live?"

He opened his mouth, but he was interrupted.

"Brin? What are you talking about?" her voice was soft, mother-like. She looked Asian. Her long black hair flowed behind her. Her brown eyes showed worry.

I opened my mouth to answer but a voice interrupted me.

"What is going on here?"

I looked to the doorway of my bedroom, and saw that Nick was leaning against it.

The stalker boy answered, "Hey man, we were just checking on Brin, but it seems like she's playing a game with us."

Silence surrounded us before Nick busted out laughing.

We all looked at each other in confusion.

"You guys heard that she was in the hospital right?"

They all nodded.

"Well," Nick began, "she's got amnesia to put it bluntly. She doesn't remember anything up until the crash. So I'm guessing she doesn't remember you guys. Which is a miracle."

The girl scowled at him and turned back to me with tears in her eyes.

She suddenly ran to my side and engulfed me in a hug.

I froze. Was I suppose to hug back? Pat her back? Why is she crying?

She patted my hair, "Oh my poor Brinley. My poor, poor Brinley. How could this happen to you? I visited you at the hospital. Kole and I did and they said you were fine. That you'll recover, but they didn't tell us this."

I opened my mouth, but I was once again interrupted.

"What were you and Kole doing together?" stalker-boy asked.

"We were just hanging out," the other boy said.

He looked familiar too.

"Alright,everyone, out," Nick said.

"You can't kick us out. We're her best friends!" the girl said.

Nick smirked, "She doesn't even remember you."

I felt the girl'd body freeze. Then she slowly let go of me.

"Brin, I'm Maki. Maki Yu," she introduced herself.

"And I'm Kane Ross. Your bestest friend," stalker boy introduced himself.

The other boy scoffed, "I'm Kole. This idiots twin."

I smiled kindly, "Nice to meet you guys."

After that, awkward silence surrounded all of us. What would you say to a sitation like this? It's not everyday that your best friend gets amnesia. It must be hard on them too.

Nick cleared his throat, "Alright, now that introductions are out of the way, please get out of my house."

They all stood up and each hugged me goodbye.

Before leaving, Kane stopped and said something to Nick, which cause his jaw to clench. After a couple of minutes they shook hands and Kane left.

Nick looked at me and smiled, "I'll leave you to rest."

He quietly closed the door behind him leaving me to my thoughts.

I had three best friends. Three crazy best friends. But why didn't they know of my situation? Why didn't come to the hospital to make sure I was okay?

"Nick, you asshole. Give me the spatula back!"

"Not until you admit that I am the world's sexiest man."

I grimaced, "I thought that was Adam Levine?"

He scowled at me and I laughed.

"Why are you always so mean to me, Brin?"

I held my hand out, "Oh hush up and give me the spatula before these sausages burn."

He finally relented and placed the spatula in my outstretched hand.

"Why are you cooking sausages in the afternoon though? Isn't that for breakfast?"

I turned back to him and stuck my tongue out, "I was craving them."

"Are you pregnant?"

I choked on my spit.

"What? No! That's preposterous."

He held his hands up in surrender, "Hey, I was just saying."

I shook my head at him, "You know, I worry about you sometimes."

He grinned, "I know."

"So," he started, "dad called and he said that the case is extended, so they'll be staying there longer."

I nodded, "Okay. What did mom say?"

"You know Diane. Always worrying and shit."

I glared at him, "Language."

He sighed, "Yes, mom."

I stuck my tongue out and threw a sausage at him.

"Hey, hey! You're wasting perfectly good sausage right there!" he accused.

I shrugged, "You were being an idiot."

"I always am."

I smiled, "Touché."
