“love is nothing but a game of mind, a game where it's either you both win, or you end up in pain.”
—————
It was the usual Saturday. Ryujin was here, Hyunjin, Somi, Mina and Jackson too. Everyone was working, the café was packed with customers who would either meet up with friends, clients, or family.
The only break we ever had was when lunch came, and people transferred to restaurants to eat and deserted our café. Ryujin pulled me to the chess are as usual for us to play a game over lunch. Jackson went ahead to check his other establishments while Hyunjin did what he was best at – annoying Mina and Somi.
"Checkmate," I said and laughed when Ryujin rolled her eyes and looked for the path that could kill her king, "Did you tell Hyunjin already?"
"Not yet. I just have the plan to surprise him tonight with his sister beside me," Ryujin joked.
"Oh, you are so giving him a heart attack I just know." I said and moved my pawn.
"How do I even tell him? He gets to be overprotective of Yeji as you said,"
I have met Yeji once when she came here to give something to Hyunjin. Ryujin was out at school, and Hyunjin introduced his sister to me. As expected, he was protective of his sister since it was just him, his sister, and his mom in the picture. He was like the father and the eldest in the family.
"I'm sure he's going to be fine, it's not like you're marrying his sister tonight. And besides, he would want that he knows too well who his sister dates so he can whoop your ass if you hurt Yeji."
"So do I tell him now?" Ryujin asked, "Checkmate."
I rolled my eyes. The talking distracted me, and I was going to lose my horse or my king, "Jinnie!" I called and saw how Ryujin's eyes widened.
"Kim!" she warned.
"Yep?" Hyunjin appeared with a donut on his mouth.
"Ryujin has something to say." I said and laughed.
"What is it?"
"I hate you, Jennie Kim," she said and looked at Jinnie, "Don't freak out, okay?"
"Shoot, did you kill someone and need help with the body? I'm out, man."
Ryujin rolled her eyes, "Idiot,"
"Just get to the point!" I complained.
"Fine!" Ryujin exclaimed, "TheoneI'mseeingisyoursisterpleasedon'tkillme," she said in one breathing and Hyunjin looked at him confused.
