A N T O N I O

Coming back from work after a long tiring day is definitely the worst yet best feeling. I always look forward for dinner time so I can spend time with my family. But there is always something missing. They are always missing. We missed them so much.

We always use to eat every meal together, but now that they aren't here, it isn't the same anymore. Everything has changed. We sit together and eat dinner every night, but there is never any interaction or normal family conversation going on between us. It is like everyone would rather be anywhere but at this dinner table and I don't blame them.

When the triplets were taken away from us we took it hard. It broke us. Losing the youngest princes and the only mafia princess was fucking unbearable.

Everyone adored them. Especially Astraea being the only girl born in our family for nearly a century, she was spoiled and cherished.

They were the light in our dark world. The innocents bubbly kids that can make anyone smile.

Our angels

And my sister, my only sister. My Farfalla. Fuck, how much I miss her. Miss her giggles, her smiles, her scent, her purity.

Romeo and I were the closest to her and our baby sister's kidnapping made us cold and distant more than we already were. We lost our hope and faith.

We were never the same since then

We tried to search for years. We never stopped. And every time we come back with the same result: nothing. Absolutely nothing.

It was like they were wiped from the face of the earth. They disappeared without a trace.

We are now all sitting around the costume made wooden table, eating silently dinner. M father's phone rang, startling us. Dad seemed irritated that someone interrupted our dinner but nevertheless answered since he knew no one would dare to call him on his personal phone at this hour unless it was something important that can't wait.

"Hello, is this Vincenzo Regio?" the person on the other end of the phone asked. From the voice, I could tell that it was a man.

"Yes, this is he. Who I am talking to?" Dad answered, putting down his glass s of wine.

"This is Officer Donovan from LAPD. I am calling to inform you that Astraea, Ares, and Atlas Regio's adoptive father ,unfortunately, passed away this morning and their adoptive mother was arrested. So now, they are in need of a legal guardian to take their custody. We noticed that you filled three missing persons files that match the description. We are wondering if you are willing to take them in or if we have tofind another solution" Officer Donovan explained. We stayed silent, not believe what we just heard.

The triplets are alive. We found them.

"Mr.Regio are you still there "

"Yes, of course, I will take their custody" Dad replied thrilled.

Mom and Hermes were shedding a few tears, they have always been the most expressive ones in our family. To be honest, even I was on the verge of crying. Valerio was jumping enthusiastically. He was too young when the triplets were taken, he probably doesn't remember them and I am sure he is happy to be able to create new memories with them now. Even Romeo's blank face cracked for a minute showing his longing, and guilt. I hope that now that the triplets are coming back, he will start opening up again.
