Katherine's clothes
I just stand there with my jaw dropping to the floor. "You coming or not?" I snapped my gaze from the mansion to Kate. I smiled sheepishly and take the box from the car. "You didn't have to Isabella" she said eyeing the box. I just shrug and reply, "It's not much." "Now come on, my family is waiting to meet you" she said bouncing on her legs. I chuckle at her excitement and follow her. If I say the exterior of this house is beautiful then I was so wrong, the interior was more beautiful. It is modern yet homey.

Living room
We went inside and see two people around their late 40's standing their. The lady was dressed in a simple yet sophisticated blue dress and the man standing next to her seemed intimidating but had warm brown eyes. those eyes look familiar though. "Ma, dad!" Kate exclaimed and hug them. They saw me and Kate introduced them, "This is Isabella Thompson, my best friend and Isabella these are my parents Nicholas and Maria Knight." "Thank you for inviting me Mr. and Mrs. Knight. I hope I am not intruding and this is for you" I said politely and gave them the box. I honestly felt a little intimidated by Mr. Knight but Mrs. Knight had a warm smile ion her face, "Oh dear! You didn't have to but thank you so much. And call me Maria please, Mrs. Knight makes me feel old."
"Ma you are old" Kate exclaimed rolling her eyes. Maria gasped and said, "You better take that back before I decide to give your slice of cake to Nate." "Ma you know I love you right and you love me. You wouldnt give my cake to that shit piece right?" Kate fluttered her eyes at her mom. "Hmmph! I'll see" Maria replied making Kate pout. I smiled at their interaction. I miss my parents. I shook that thought and decided to enjoy the night.
"Where are the boys dad?" Kate asked. "They should be here any moment" Mr. Knight replied. Kate nodded at his answer. As on the cue three people came in and my eyes widened. They were the same guys that came home the other day. Nate was bickering with the guy next to him and one of them was walking behind him. Nate saw me and abruptly stopped walking making Mr. Knight stumble as his attention was on his phone. He glared at Nate and saw where he was looking. His eyes came and stopped at me. His eyes widened and yelled, "You!" I flinched at his harsh tone and stuttered, "M-mr. Knight?" everyone saw this interaction. I was kinda feeling awkward and embarrassed. Shit I shouldn't have come here tonight.
Thank God Kate broke the tension, "Alex, Natie and Jakey this is my best friend Isabella" "Thompson yeah I know her" Mr. Knight interrupted. "But how? Wait you can explain that later." Katie asked them. "Let me introduce you guys first. This is Alexander my oldest brother," She said pointing towards Mr. Knight. "This is my idiot twin brother Nathaniel but we call him Nate or Nathan," she pointed towards Nate "and this is Jacob Sampson, Alexs best friend. He is technically family," she said pointing towards "Its nice to meet you guys," I said. Nathan pulled me in an unexpected hug, "Thank God I found you. You are my Cinderella." "Dont be overdramatic Natie," Kate exclaimed. Nathan took predatory steps towards her and warned, "Do not call me that ever again. I'm warning you Kate." I shook hands with Jacob and Alexander nodded towards me. "So how do you guys know each other again?" Mr. Knight asked. Jacob replied, "We went for dinner at her place because of the restaurants deal few days back. You know we told you about that." "Yeah Yeah I remember," Mr. Knight nodded. "Kids dinner is ready" Mrs. Knight announced "And we will have your cupcakes for dessert dear" she said directing towards me. I smiled in response. We all went into the dining room. Mr. Knight and Alexander sat at the either heads of the table, Maria sat at right of Mr. Knight, Nathan at left of Mr. Knight followed by Katherine and me next to him, Jacob sat next to Maria. The dinner came and everyone dig in.

Dining room
This meal was one of the best meals Ive had in many years. "This is so tasty Mrs. Knight" I complimented her. "Thank you dear and what did I say about calling me Mrs. Knight?" She said sternly. "Sorry Mrs- I mean Maria" I replied and she smiled warmly at me. "So how you and Katherine know each other?" Alexander asked. "We were assigned together for a project in college and we instantly clicked" I answered. "So what were you studying?" this time it was Mr. Knight who asked me. "I was doing master course in software engineering" He nodded appreciatively at me. "So what your parents do?" Mr. Knight asked me. I tensed up hearing the question and the intense stare I was getting from Alexander was not helping me either. I took a deep breath and answered, "T-they are n-no more. They died 13 years ago. I live with my uncle and their family." Too much for stuttering Isa. "Oh dear! Im so sorry" Maria exclaimed. "Its fine. It was long time ago" I said with a small smile. Thank god Nathan decided to change the subject, "So what were you doing at Beans and Cream café?" "I work there" I replied. Alexander was about to say something but he didn't. After finishing the dinner we went into the lounge room for dessert.
