We got home around 1 AM yesterday and Went straight to sleep. I decided to stay with Ken after our conversation. He really needed someone to be there for him.
I've been up since 10 but I don't wanna wake him up. He looks like he ain't sleep in years. But his phone keeps ringing and I don't want him to miss something important.
"Ken wake up. Your phone has been going off"
He looked up at me groggy and snatch the phone off the dresser. When he looked at the contact name he Rolled his eyes and answered the phone. Why he did that I got up and made him breakfast.
He came downstairs looking even more stressed than before.
"What's up ken?"
"That was my mom, well Lucas's mom. she said that the baby is doing really well in the NICU and they are thinking that he could possibly be released tomorrow or the day after. honesty this shit is going too fast how the fuck am I supposed to take care of a baby "
I turn off the stove and serve him.
"Ken, it's going to e ok. I'll help you, your mom will help you, Nae and Lukas will help you too. you are not alone in this. why do you have to take him anyway "
"Her family was assholes. They were pissed that she was even fucking with bro. so that left either me or Lukas. Ma thought it would be too much for Lukas to take care of two babies at one time. So that left me."
"Last night you had said that you live a dangerous lifestyle for a baby. Ken what do you do"
Ken looked at me and I hurried up and changed the subject
"Look how about we go visit the baby today and then we can go shopping and get the room together. ok? go get dressed and we'll stop by my place then we'll go."
at the hospital
we've been at the hospital for quite some time now. We met his mom up here and he has been signing papers since. His mom doesn't like me at all, to say the least. when I first introduced myself to her she refused to shake my hand or even say hello. now she has just been mean-mugging the fuck out of me, and I don't know why.
"Ma what did you name him? "
She stopped glaring at me and turned to Ken with a smile that could light up the room
"Well actually baby, I thought that I would want to name him. You know since you will be taking care of him."
Ken sighed and rubbed his hands down his face.
"Nah I don't know what to name him. Got any ideas on a name for him"
She looked appalled and said, "Actually I had some names I-"
"King," i said above a whisper
They both looked at me
"King Jayden Walters," I said a little bit louder
they both looked at me and before his mom could object ken said that he loved the name.
after he signed the papers the nurse came in and let us know that he was only in the NICU because of the emergency c section. after she let us know that he will be going home tomorrow she wheeled King for skin to skin contact
The sight was soo beautiful, my eyes began to water, and then here comes Ken messing up the mood
"Why this Lil nigga so light, MikeMike was black as shit."
everyone even the nurse busted out laughing. King didn't find that too funny though because he opened his eyes and gave ken the nastiest look ever.
"Aww hell nahh this Lil nigga don't even like me already"
everyone shared a quick laugh again and they did skin to skin until king fell asleep again
Ken felt some type of way when it was time for us to go so he ended up staying while I do all the shopping for King. Which I didn't quite mind since I would rather do stuff alone. I left the hospital around 3 pm and before I knew it, it was 8 and time to go get Ken.
When I picked him up we got takeout and watched movies until we fell asleep
