"What the hell have you been hiding from us?" Maxine questions me the second I come into her view. Nolan's disappeared and it's just us in the hallway again.

"I'm sorry guys, so much has been happening. I can't keep up myself." I beat around the brush allowing myself to think of what I can say. Do I tell them we're together? Or cause he wanted to make a girl who tried to get me fucking killed in school jealous so she could try to contact him, giving him an opportunity to kill her because that's what he does along with selling illegal drugs?

"Kenz, it's okay. Relax. You don't need to tell us but we'd appreciate it. You know I love knowing what's going in all of your lives and this is big! Nolan? Oh my god!" Alex rubs my arm reassuringly, earning a grin from my mouth.

"I don't know what to call it. He hasn't asked me out so I'm not really sure what we are." I lie again, and honestly I'm starting to hate it. I really want to tell them the truth.

"He's hot. Like crazily hot but as your best friend, I think you should be careful around him. He's a manwhore." Max points out the obvious.

"Don't worry, it's nothing serious." I giggle, hoping the conversation changes.

"You sure? Because the way he's looking at you right now tells me otherwise." Alex raises one eyebrow and flares his nostrils in sarcasm. I turn to see where he's looking, catching Nolan looking at me but before I can make a second long eye contact, he shifts his attention back to the person he's talking to.

I shake my head in amusement, and sigh. It's going to be a long day today.

My mind is still thinking about what happened earlier, I can't seem to shake my thoughts out of it. The lessons have also gone by incredibly slow with my inability to concentrate on anything.

The whole day feels like shit.

Last period finally ends and I've never been this relieved because I've been dying to get out of this shithole for the whole day.

"I need to go to the mall real quick to grab a few things, can you guys please please come with me? I promise I will pay for your food!" Alex begs as I slam my locker shut. I've always been doing that, it feels good.

"I think I'll pass." I turn around to face both Alex and Max while pulling my bag's strap up my shoulder.

"Pinky promise me right now you will buy me anything I want to eat if I come with you." I scoff as Max pulls out her pinky waiting for Alex to do the same.

"Pinky promise." They both wrap their pinky's together while I get distracted by someone walking down the hallways.

I feel my anger shooting up just by looking at her face. I haven't seen her the whole day and I have been hoping I would because all I want to do is fuck her up.

She's checking out other boys with a smirk on her face with her two minions walking behind her.

"Guys, I'll see you later, yeah?" I give them both a quick hug, and wait for them to exit the school.
