12• The Talkative Turtle 🐢

Once upon a time long ago
A lake was in a danger zone,
It was almost dried up and empty
Everybody saved their lives on their own.

But a small turtle couldn't travel
To the other lake with his low pace,
So he sought help from two swans
Who can fly smoothly in any case?

They carried a stick by its ends
And the turtle was asked to hold,
The stick by his mouth in the centre
The turtle was heavy and very old.

The swans warned the turtle
To have a grip very strong,
And not to say a single word
No talking and no song.

But on the way when people saw
The turtle hanging like that,
They said some bitter words to him
"He's so slow, funny and fat!"

The turtle in anger opened his mouth
To reply to the cruel men,
But before he could utter a word
His journey came to an end.

As the turtle fell on the ground
The swans went flying away,
He was stupid, indeed he was
He never heard whatever they say.

So we learn from that talkative turtle
We should listen to elders carefully,
And should not pay attention to those
Who just talk to you to bully.

Poet's Note

Hey reader,
I'm really sorry about the turtle but he should've listened to what he was told. And so should you.
