Atreus' POV

The bright light of the sun shining past my closed eyelids woke me up from sleep. I smiled, remembering my dreams of a certain blue and green eyed beauty.

Taking my phone off the charger I read the time, 10 o’clock. After my chat with Dariya, I left with my parents who were already planning to leave. Waiting for my sisters would have had me at that club for far too long.

My brows furrowed as I read the text from my cousin, Imani. Pressing the link she sent, my eyes widened in surprise and shock.

It was a short clip of Dariya and I dancing at the club on one of New York’s popular online magazines.

'New York's biggest hot shot lawyer and Formula 1 female racer getting down in the dead, last night at the opening of her brand new club in Greece'.

I groaned loudly, irritated by the fact that the press never missed anything. They always seemed for things in our personal life to gossip about. I can already hear the comments from my family.

I threw my phone on the bed hoping it would roll off the mattress and break, but it didn’t. Sighing in agitation, I walked to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

Pulling on my dark blue trousers, I push the end of my white Ralph Lauren Polo t-shirt inside the hem, buckling my belt around it. My black loafers hit the floors quietly on impact as I walked to the quiet chatter of my family.

"Where are you going?" Odessa asked, looking to me over the rim of her glass that was just about to reach her lips.

"Out." I answered vaguely, sitting at the table to eat.

"Out where?"

"Are you my mother Odessa?" I asked her, stacking my plate high with fluffy buttermilk pancakes.

"No she's not, but I do want to know." My mother said, from the head of the table.

"I'm going on a date." I said to them, smiling lightly.

"A date?" Galina asked, alerting us of her presence. I hummed, unable to talk because of the food I was chewing.

"That's good to hear son. Do you want any tips?" My father asked, grinning as he leaned forward on the glass table top.

"Sure."

"Okay let me think, open the door for her that's always a good first step. Rest your hand on her lower back to guide her, women always love that-"

"Which other women do you know that likes that?" My mother asked quietly, her tattooed fingers tightening around the handle of the knife.

"Sloan it's just a fact, I'm not referring to anyone specifically." My father said calmly, his eyes flicking to the knife in her hand.

She hummed at him her eyes hard as she glared at him. They had a long staring contest for a long minute, the room silent.

"Thanks for the ideas dad and please don't kill him mom. I'm leaving now." I said breaking the tense silence that I knew wouldn’t have ended well.

"When will you be back?" Dad asked me, finally looking away from my mother as I stood from my chair.

"I'm not sure, but not anytime soon."

"You didn't tell us who you’re going on a date with." Vera said, although she already knew.

"With Dariya, I'm sure you already knew that anyway."

I took the keys for my Ferrari, that was on the wall in the garage. Sitting in the front seat I looked up Formula 1 because I only just realized I didn't know where the conference was taking place.
